Also, on Tony's latest blog post, I sense a coaster where the Pirate Ride was, the new Hex Haunt in that building, a redesign to Mantis (Rougarou), and Mean Streak will most likely become King James.
Arms Down, Head Back, and Hold On!...Arms Down!...Arms Down......
Whatever they announce to be new, I'm thinking a possible demolition of Skyhawk, but that would most likely be an off-season announcement.

Isnt that a little premature to think Skyhawk will be removed? A cable broke, not a major structural failure.
How many times has Cedar Point removed a ride because of a mechanical failure?

The ride's been plagued with issues the past 2 seasons, and 2 people were hurt last night. If it's a maintenance nightmare or safety hazard, removing the ride isn't out of the question. I got 3 rides on it this year, but I think that incident scared me off of it for good. And I'm sure it was traumatizing to those who were on board when it happened.

Tony said, we wont make you wait a century. 100 years ago in 1915 the White house hotel was remodeled and renamed the Cedars. We all know that is coming down. Maybe a coaster over there including the Pirate ride building. Or, he could be referring to the 100 year anniversary in 1970. That year the original Wildcat opened. Maybe the replacement is on the way on either the Pavilion or PR site.

I dont know if they painted the whole thing but i remember that the rails were unpainted then they painted them a few years later. I dont know if they just painted the rails red or the entire coaster
Mantis was totally repainted for the 2003 season, the same year the now defunct Wildcat got a new color scheme.
^^ or, if it's a reference to anything, it could be to Centurion, the commonly believed name for Carrowinds' new coaster.
This swampy Rougarou theme being near the CCMR area, and now Skyhawk is debated to be removed, could it change a lot of things to where this new attraction could be built? Could it open up new ideas?
No, even if Skyhawk does get removed, the plans for the new attraction next year won't change. It's going to go in the same place they've been planning for some time.

^ I agree completely. What would the removal of Skyhawk have to do with plans that have been made? Unless of course it was in the plans for the new attraction to sit where Skyhawk is now.
I think the lagoon location will be for rip cord move, since challenge park is going away! It would also increase in park spending and ridership!
I think a lot of this talk about Skyhawk being removed is a bit premature.
Shoot the Rapids is still running, yes? And that ride's a turd (apologies to Shawn).
This was sad to see, and everyone involved was very lucky not to have been hurt seriously, but I don't think this is the end of the ride. It will get worked out. And since when is Challenge Park going anywhere?

If I recall correctly, Top Thrill Dragster had cord snap with multiple people injured, and it's still around. I also understand it was a much bigger investment.
Rumor has it that challenge park is being removed and soak city will no longer be a separate gated attraction!
Ride On!

Yeah thats the year i was thinking because I have a poster of mantis taken in 2003 and the paint looked really fresh. I wasn't for sure positive that it was reprinted or just good photography at the time
^^Care to share where you heard that from?

Mantis' supports started out a a very dark blue in 1996 (looking back at my personal photos) and then faded to what appeared to be purple about 2 years later.
BTW, Why can't Rogarou be the name for a NEW ride, and not a rename of an existing one?

I have never heard that rumor. I've heard challenge park but no evidence to back it up. So it'll take more info to convince me
Wow!....I believe next year will be special and going by the pictures on CP's website involving the 2 coasters, Point Pavilion, Blue Streak Midway and the new building by Gatekeeper.. I believe the park will be getting rearranged along with a facelift! Open up the BS midway making guests walk past BS to get to Raptor, giving Raptor a midway of it's own and adding dimension/depth to the park! Maybe a new haunt by Gatekeeper and Rougarou, which hints at being located in the back of the park near/in Frontier Town? Giving CP a haunt located at each end of the park themed along with their respected coasters (Gatekeeper/Rougarou)! Maybe the relocation/re-theming of Mantis to open up the HINTED Mi? Maybe the demolition of MS to make room for the new attraction, also HINTED by Mi to be a B&M addition? CP is also putting a lot of money into their lodging in the next few years and I cannot imagine them doing that without a substantial upgrade to the park... I cannot wait for this year's announcement, hell I can't wait to hear the announcement for the announcement!! LOL it's all just my thoughts for fun!
