New for 2015

I don't give credence to what any employee outside of management claims to know (because they don't), but the Mantis idea is intriguing, simply because I find the ride symbolic of why no one builds stand-up coasters anymore.

But that's just one rider's personal opinion.

The fun thing is that right now, until we get another clue, we only have a name and a theme.

It would seem a little odd to have a swamp-creature-themed ride somewhere other than a Mantis-like area (the island, Frontier Land, etc...).

^^ Did you see the picture McClure posted earlier today? Kind of throwing me for yet another loop - not that I had any idea what the heck was going on before that picture and subsequent tweets though.

I think the announcement for the announcement will be later this month. I doubt there is a new coaster because of the lack of posters with clues.

This year seems different to me, maybe it's just me but I think we're in for something special! Im goin bold lol and saying that CP will be demolishing MS to make room for the tail-end of Rougaro, which will start at it's station by Snake River Falls / Skyhawk! If you look up Rougarou, you will see that it can be anything it wants to be! The pic from Jason McClure's Twitter, IMO revealed the location of Rougarou! Remember Matt Ouimet is at the helm for CF and has no emotional ties to the unpractical/unpopular existing attractions (ex..Disaster Transport/Space Spiral) that take up more space than the thrill they put out! Then the whole Mantis thing!... I dunno what to think but I can't wait! Regardless of what happens I'm sure it'll be great and exactly what the park needs!

There are no current trademarks for a Haunt attraction but it has been done before. I'm unsure of what park this was used at. I still doubt Rougarou is the name of a haunt but it's something that I guess we can never rule out.

Same here! And I noticed that CP no longer has a charge for Dino's now. That there signaled to me that something's up with that...

They're charging for Dinosaurs Alive and Dinos After Dark. Only Platinum Passes grant no charge access to the former.

And Dinos After Dark is not free for anyone, though it is discounted for pass holders.

Whatever CP's going to get, they need it to be heavily themed...that's something I think the park lacks, is a good themed attraction.

^^ Wow, you're reaching. The General Manager of Cedar Point posts a sunrise picture from within his park and all of a sudden, a new ride is going in!

He works there, he loves the place, and he wants to show it off to friends and potential guests. That's all. Nothing even resembling a hint of the nothing formally acknowledged is to be had.

I'm all for speculating but at least have something meaningful to contribute.

I would agree with you that a picture doesn't mean everything as he posts pictures of CP all the time, like yesterday... In any event the "and" followed by a blank at the end of his tweet is what I think is interesting.

I'm not so sure. Jason did end his tweet with "and", which was either an inconvenient mistake, or an intentional tease. Given the markings in (and to a lesser extent, the rumors surrounding) that area, I'm not so dismissive.

Fine, taking the "and" into account, he was standing right by Blue Streak's station platform.

I think something going into Pirate Ride's old building is a possibility. With markings located at the pavilion behind it, I think the building could be demolished and something go in there. That's a nice amount of space for a new ride. And I think the Blue Streak midway is due for an overhaul.

But not only is BS's station not shown in the picture, the sun doesn't rise over BS from where he's standing. I think it's more likely than not that the post has some meaning beyond face value.

It is shown on the right, even one of the anniversary banner's. I thought we were playing the nitpicking, minute detail-hunting game.

Also, the sunrise is in the sky over the entire picture.
