Well, just discovered that apparently Dorney Park had a splash mountain type of ride called Journey to the Center of the Earth (formerly Old Mill) which Cedar Fair promptly removed after purchasing. According to wiki:"Dorney's new owner, Cedar Fair, razed it due to poor safety and liability issues. They wanted rides where the operator could see the riders at all times. It was a fire hazard due to its age."
Oh wow. Idora Park in Youngstown had a very similar ride called the Lost River (also formerly Old Mill). I bet the same manufacturer too, PTC. Unfortunately, it burned down in the 1984 fire.
Its a close-up of an orange lifevest. Their bringing back Paddlewheel Excursions but this time with the dinosaurs from "Dinos Alive". Remember Knott's Land of he Dinosaurs? Well, their bringing it back - an outdoor version at CP and an indoor version at Knott's. That way the folks in California can enjoy Dinosaurs Alive like we all here in the east have. What a great family attraction to add to CP. As if we haven't had enough of the animatronic dinosaurs already.

Kingdom of the Dinosaurs coming back to Knott's with Garner Holt dinos would be awesome. Better yet, Knott's should just rip-off Disney's Countdown to Extinction attraction, since it's east coast only and most people wouldn't make the Indiana jones connection.
In all seriousness though, I don't think this will be a kiddie land expansion as some theorized, or they would've specified that the family announcing it had to have a child that could actually participate. It'll be some family attraction or event that all members can participate in. A shared experience, as Matt calls it, something Cedar Point needs more of.
It looks like fiberglass to me :)
My list of what I hope they're NOT getting: Anything similar to what KI has with the Scooby doo shoot-em ride, yet another peanuts themed attraction, another dinosaur attraction, or a sheet metal box to place over gatekeeper.
I'm hoping: they are bringing back a modern version of an older funhouse/dark ride, yoga pants cover-up dispensers in the midway, orange floorless trains for mantis, or new wheels for gatekeeper, apparently in orange. :) one can hope.
My thought:
The photo seen here ( https://www.cedarpoint.com/images/blog/cpblogthumb09.jpg ) and that is on the pointbuzz fb post for the 2014 announcement (they might be the same photo, but I can't tell, I'm on my phone) mean that CP will be getting a dark ride as one of the 2014 additions. Possibly an enclosed roller coaster because of the dark tint and the pictures are of coasters.
