Ok, I'm putting it in the memory bank. 64 person. But exactly how tall are we talking? You aren't going to say "I said 300 ft, technically 365 ft is 300 ft. (or higher)" are you? or "275 is essentially 300 ft."?
I think it will be 3-something in height. I just don't see 400+ happening. 3-something will be plenty to make noise about.
As for 64 people, I would be pleased to see that. I can't imagine they would do any less than what Skyhawk does (40).

I agree that 300 would be just fine, and I'm not saying it has to be 400 ft., it's just so ironic that the newest star flyers are approaching the 400 ft mark and strata has become synonymous with 400 ft in the coaster industry.
Just makes me wonder...
I'd be surprised if anyone outside coaster dork circles has any idea that "strata" has anything to do with a specific height class. The naming is simple - Stratasoar sounds a lot cooler/alliterative than Gigasoar, Hypersoar and so on.

We should really wait for the official announcement before we rip on anybody from Cedar Fair. Who knows it could be a teaser like what they did last year before they announced Shoot the Rapids.
I was thinking of how a starflyer would 'bring back memories' for people who follow Cedar Point. It would make sense since back in the day they had the swing that was actually in the lake. This will be another swing ride except really high as people are talking about. Perhaps then they go on to rebuild the cyclone next year or put in a new woodie in that area to really make it feel like CP of old.
I along with some others will be greatly disappointed if this thing is a starflyer but hey its all personal opinion.
http://cpguide.drewborg.com/park/whatsnew/2011season/watch/ The picture of the Pavilion. Could part of the ride go there?
Think about your theory for a second.
Pepsi Refresh is saving one coaster at a time: http://pep.si/bTTsfc
According to Scream scape, Cedar Point will announce their new ride/coaster on August 8th. I know we shouldn't worry too much about what Scream scape says, but who knows, they might be right this time.
Screamscape is only saying that because they're trying to tie in the Snoopy birthday celebration to the announcement...I highly doubt that's accurate information since it's been released that inside of the present is something for little kids to take home-I really don't think we'll get an announcement then...
I also just read on Screamscape that Michigan's Adventure is getting something new for next year. I wouldn't hold my breathe for that either.

The new ride's gonna be called stratosoar, whatever it is. Since strato usually means 400+ I think it's a safe bet it isn't a coaster...
'Strato' only means 400 feet or higher according to the nomenclature that Cedar Fair itself came up with. Therefore, they can call anything 'strato' they want to. They could come up with a 40' tall kids' coaster and call it StratoSnoopy if they wanted to. And nobody could argue otherwise. Well, they could, but it would be pointless.
But you are right -- it's almost certainly not a coaster.
