I just ran across some pictures of a bunch of new construction markings. The area is located in the area of the old dolphin stadium, and the happy fryer.
Look here....

Interesting find. From the looks of it they are sewer and water line markings so far. I'm not really sure what exactly to make of them yet, but we will have to see. :)

Everything seems to correspond with an existing access point or other physical item, so I'm not sure it points to a new attraction, but it is somewhat interesting. That's actually an area of the park in which I don't spend much time, so I'm having a hard time visualizing it. Anyone have a good idea of the overall size of the area affected?
The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

Thanks, man. That's a part of the park that's I've always thought to be kind of dead from a circulation standpoint, so it wouldn't surprise me if there were a master plan to activate the area. However, the affected area is a crucial circulation intersection, especially to access Ocean Motion (which is perhaps the most unfortunately-placed ride in the entire park) and to keep the WT midway from being a dead-end. If something were to be plopped down over the markings, all kinds of other changes would be needed.
But, if say, the stadium were removed and Ocean Motion relocated, the amount of available real estate would be pretty significant. Thinking clearly, though, maybe we're just seeing an upgrade or upkeep of the water line infrastructure.

Very interesting. Is the more likely position the one that was vacated by Demon Drop or the one with the survey markings? hm...
or maybe they are trying to throw us off lol

They look like water/sewer direction marking's.
Quote from a Corkscrew ride op, "And Dragster is down again"
The year after the Dive show ended (2007), the stadium sat vacant and many people thought that it would be removed for a future attraction. Then All wheels extreme opened. Which is (I believe) an outside contract. This is it's 3rd year. Was that just something added to fill space for a couple years? AWE couldn't have been to big of an investment. Just a bit of carpentry work.
Has anyone done the AWE show this year? I've never seen it too crowded in there. If that area is in fact the "project zone" and if Wave Swinger were relocated to the Demon Drop site, it wouldn't surprise me if the beach entrance got a make over or even relocated.

That area of the park needs something. The park could be slammed, but that area is always a ghost town.

For those not familiar with this area of the park.

Hm, very interesting. I could picture a real nice flat going where wave swinger is...but then again, I could picture about 100 different things if they're removing things/utilizing the beach.
I think you are refering to "ocean motion"...not wave swinger.

It's not completely Kyle's fault. I had it mislabeled. It was probably fixed between the first and 2nd time he looked at it. :)

While on the subject, I think Ocean Motion is another one of the really underrated rides. It's a lot of fun, and, because of it's poor placement, is usually a walk on or one/two cycle wait.
Back on topic - are you guys starting to think the new "thrill ride" is going where (or around) the survey markings are? or still up front, at Demon Drops spot?
I am not sure what to think yet, other than it's very interesting to find construction markers in this area.
If they were going to get a new thrill ride(aka twirl and hurl), I doubt that they would be starting construction already. To me, this is the signes of a major attraction or renovation.

Could Ocean Motion possibly be going to the Demon Drop spot?
