Mystery Construction

Why would Cedar Fair go "balls out" for the other two announcements and then just release Cedar Point's announcement as "fluff" in comparison? The other two announcments were huge coasters which deserved the talk, Cedar Point's however?

My guess would be if it's a coaster it will be a smaller project when compared to the Intimidator rides that were just released.

Anyone else find it off-putting that Tony referred to it as a product, not a ride or attraction, being announced?

I dont know...aside from local press and fanboys of the park (and people like myself on coasterbuzz, etc..), who really watches the park press event? Perhaps it's just unnecessary. They are reaching more people through twitter, FB, and their website in today's market than ever before, so why not just use it?

Except that those 2 other parks are on the smaller end for Cedar Fair. Holding an in park press conference makes sense because it really gets the word out there.

Cedar Point on the other hand already has that visibility, so holding an in park event doesn't really do anything for publicity. That could actually work against them as enthusiasses flood the park to try and "be there when it happens".

Are you reffering to the jug that was posted? If not what becuase I missed it. I didn't know he reffered to it as a product, if so that might very well mean something.

I think it's great that they use it. They did for the other two as far as I know and it's great FREE publicity and advertising if you will. In genius. The forums however generate the biggest buzz if you ask me, look at this thread.

exactly, which is why I stated in my very first post on here that either.....

A. small project, most likely not a coaster

or

B. It's Cedar Point, they don't need the publicity.

Nobody knows, were all guessing here. All I know is that I can't wait until thursday.

whats IRL mean?

In Real Life, Norman.

I deleted my post because I was replying to something that was answered a page or two ago. I should've probably, you know, read more. :)

It's all good, I'm not one of the wacked-out people on here that beat others up for such a thing.

He did mention Product because if you look at it from there standpoint thats what it is. Another Product of the Point. We just look at it as a Project and or Ride.

Ironically, I am, Norman. :)

And I believe he meant "project", T. I could be wrong though.

So far the only logical guesses that I recall reading and agreeing with is an Intamin water ride or rollercoaster, correct? If it is an Intamin coaster does anyone believe it would be a rull circuit coaster like MF or Maverick versus one of those chessey others? I'd really like to see a full circuit Intamin that we are used to going throughout that section of the park. I like how they did Magnum XL200, the majority of the ride isn't even in the park.

I'll save you some trouble - there's no significance to the announcement date or time. There's a reason why it's at 9:10, but it has nothing to do with the product we're announcing. It's more of a housekeeping thing.

Also, there is no in-park event. It's all being done online.

Now who wants some Whyte Lightning?

Nope he said Product.

But I think I do understand I know what you are saying though. You were thinking that maybe Tony meant to type Project instead of Product.

If you look back on previous Cedar Point ride announcements, you'll see that there is no correlation between date/time/size of announcement and the ride being announced.

You haven't noticed the big blue one that has spent 9 years running through that part of the park?
