Can't wait! I think we are all expecting a flume, but it will be exciting to hear the details!
...and if it's a coaster, then we will be overjoyed, but not disappointed becuase, I don't know about anybody else but I'm not expecting one.
I have just given up on this guessing game since its only 2 days away. I was talking to my mom about Whyte Lightning and she doesn't believe me that its a ride. She says its obviously a drink and it will probably make you less afraid of rides. :/
Whoa. Whoever mentioned that ball coaster, it looks awesome. I would love if Cedar Point added this. It seems small enough to fit on the island too. For no basis on my reasoning other than desire to ride one, I guess Cedar Point will have a ball coaster this year.

Cedar Point will never have a ball coaster.
I think that it would be an interesting addition to Cedar Point, but with the current area they have (we think they have) chosen, I think that a roller coaster/log flume would be the best use of the area. But thats just my opinion.
P.S Did some of the pages get deleted?
On second thought let's not go to Six Flags, 'tis a silly place.
I would say that 'never' is a pretty strong word to use. It seems unlikely that a ball coaster would provide the capacity CP is looking for, but there's always challenge park. ;)

Hoping to one day build these great machines that we affectionatly call "Coasters"
I think I was the one that mentioned the ball coaster a while back. I have been fascinated with 4D coasters since X came out, even though I've never been on one.
If they have an simple (yet still effective) restraint system and they built one big enough, it doesn't seem like they would be as much as a capacity nightmare. A car holds 8 passengers and if they could run at a 30 second interval (think wildcat style loading, but faster) they could almost hit 1000 PPH. It's improbable, but not impossible.
Not to mention that Whyte Lightening is expected to be some sort of 'dueling' ride. A decent capacity would be obtainable then. My fingers are crossed!!
Who knows what's coming in 2 days, we'll know soon enough.
If cp got a ball coaster ..I dont think they would put it on the Island. Because the small foot print it uses.. the line would not only have go past the RR tracks, also you would have to go over the lagoon to get to it.
I think CP wants to keep PWE.. and they would have to build a bridge high enough for PWE to go under. I think it will be a flume or coaster, because you can have hills high enough to go over the lagoon and let PWE pass under it , like the hills on the force. Thats why I dont think it will be a dark ride or flat.. Its just the access the to the Island by foot that would be difficult ..
Is there a clue in the 09.03.09 09:10. I googled it and came up with Acient Building repair. 9 minutes 10 seconds would be a decent ride time for a flume or dark ride.
Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.
OMG! The ride is going to go under the lagoon!!!ONE1111 ;)

You have got to try and find a way to ride X2. Go to Vegas for a weekend and make the short 3-hour trip to SFMM. It's like nothing you will have ever experienced!
Two thoughts...
In regards to Tony saying "product", and not "project", something that may work against the idea of the announcement being a product is yesterday's twitter post. It was talking about 'rendering some video'. It seems to me that they would not 'render' some video for a product, but either do a live skit/movie of some kind of product-placement video. To me, rendering implies taking a real environment from CP and making it an animated video ie POV, off ride view etc. I do realize that this is not neccessarily what that means though.
Second, if it IS a ride, I've looked for someone mentioning it in the post and can't find it, but wasn't Intamin one of the clues for what type it wouldn't be, a few weeks ago? Something about "guests enjoying the setting of the intamin sun?" How did we move past this?

You do realize that Tony posted soon after saying that there is no significance in the time, right?
I can't decide which I'm more excited for... the ride announcement, or the end of this thread. ;)
