If, I have learned anything here, you'll be mocked and picked on whether you deserve it, or ask for it, or not. Oh well, it's a part of life I guess.
Says the guy who signed up a few weeks ago and is being a know-it-all douche in a fairly established community. Seriously dude... go post on some other site. I'm tired of you already.
And the same goes for anyone else who participates in this dicketry. If we have to clean out a dozen people to restore some kind of order and bring the tone back to something resembling civil. We'll do it. You won't be missed.
I've known what the ride was going to be for months. What do I win for being so awesome and better than everyone else? That's what I thought.

Thank you Jeff for saying that. Revoman1, you are my LEAST favorite on this fourm. I have opinions and you have your opinions. You said to me about 15 days ago: " I love how he can't even spell Diamondback. Such a Cool Kid." Everyone makes mistakes. You always do so try to be nice. Thanks Jeff I feel exactly the same way you do about him. :(
Back on topic: A log flume that doesn't get you to wet is okay for me.:) I do not think it will be anything like Pilgrams Plunge at Holiday World because it would be to simular to Snake River falls.

The question has come up as to why the big events for Kings Dominion and Carowinds, but not for Cedar Point...
I suggest that it has to do with the fact that Kings Dominion and Carowinds are former CBS/Paramount/KECO parks, and traditionally those big events are how those parks did things. And when you're dealing with local media, to some degree you have to live up to their expectations.
I've been to press events at both Cedar Point and Kings Island, and the difference is striking. At Kings Island, we could expect first that it would be built up as a special event, that there would be elaborate staged presentations, and that they would put together something nearly equivalent to a catered meal, complete with tablecloths, ice sculptures and centerpieces. Character appearances, actors, skydivers, explosions, the whole bit.
Meanwhile, at Cedar Point they'd tell us where to park and which gate to come in, park dignitaries would give a quick speech (and invariably demonstrate that their skills are in park management, not public speaking), and they'd set up some mediocre food in some convenient location. Of course, they would also have designated parking spaces with full hook-ups for remote trucks, mini offices with telephone and computer hook-ups for reporters, satellite time already booked, and audio and video editing workstations set up with standard B-roll pre-loaded and ready for reporters to drop in their personal on-ride reverse POV.
As a general rule, the Kings Island events were more entertaining, but the Cedar Point events were probably more effective at giving the media folks exactly what they needed to do exactly what Cedar Point wanted them to do. Put another way, Paramount was out to impress the media. Cedar Fair was out to impress the wider audience.
The fact is, either tactic works. But there's something to be said for respecting local culture.

Dueling is one of the thoughts I have had also with the lightning strikes twice statement, as well as racing and the two drops. But there are many ways you can spice up a flume with modern tech, especially if your thinking outside the box. I forget the parks name but there is a water park with a slide that is projecting a video of a dragon onto a waterfall that people actually go through, granted though the only ride CP ever did up like that was DT and look what happened to it over the years. I must admit I am looking forward to a flume if indeed that is what it is going to be.
Then Kings Island did a press day for Diamondback, with virtually no press. Is it obvious that they chased out all of the best marketing people from Paramount Parks?

Neglegence, if I had to guess I'd say that was the new ride last summer at Schlitterbahn, I think it's called Dragon's Lair, they've got a bunch of dragon-themed slides. I was there, but only made it on 3 rides in the day we spent there, so I can only tell you how Master Blaster and a couple of body slides were. Pretty cool, but I wouldn't wait another hour for it, and it's all out-and-out water slide, so I wouldn't expect something like that in the park.
^ Not to my knowledge. The last thing that I remember reading on here about Demon Drop was that it was no longer available for purchase. I rode it about a week ago and I did not see any changes in the area.
2008 visits = 38, 2009 = 19, 2010 = 11, 2011 = 14, 2012 = 10, 2013 = 14, 2014 = 14, 2015= 13, 2016 = 11, 2017 = 5, 2018 = 3
We all know that the lightning striking twyce is the two kicks you get down the Moistenend Mulch Pile.
Ride the Pine! (referring to the yellow pine of Mean Streak that will make up the bulk of the pile)
I will give $100,000 to a charity of Dick Kinzel's choosing if they name the new attraction "DICKETRY" - the ride! You go up, get slapped around a little and come back down. Not unlike an Arrow Corkscrew.
I don't blame parks for not going guns blazing with announcements anymore. The "media" is a shell of it's former self. I'd be surprised if the Plain Dealer or the Toledo paper would even have reporters to send should CP want to do a real announcement. Journalism is a shell of its former self.
And, with Twitter, Facebook, etc (not too mention coaster related sites) there is plenty of information getting to the masses about this new attraction.
