Yes, it would waste that area. I don't think it would be smart to just put a building on the island when it has great potential for an outdoor ride. A dark ride would be better in a different part of the park, like where the old Pirate Ride building is.

I don't know what you're talking about, I edited my post to put @webbers name in and then I added the comment about a dark ride.

Take a pill? wtf?

Wow. Why is everyone so angry?

I wouldn't mind a dark ride. A nice place to cool off in the middle of the day. That's 95% of the appeal of the Dispatch Master.

I know.

This whole thing is amusing. People are getting upset and arguing over a ride at an amusement park.

I can think of much bigger problems to argue about like, health care, crime, the war over seas, and free ice water:)

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

The FACT is this: there is just as much reasoning to support a flume as there is information against it, and the same is true for a roller coaster.

Actually, there's far more reasoning in support of a flume as there is against it.

Just as there is far less in support of a coaster as there is against it.

A flume fills a pretty big gap in the attraction lineup, would fit in very well in Frontier Town/Frontier Trail, and can be built by Intamin (which all clues would point to them being the designer).

Alright dj let's back up a bit and clear some things up.

First of all, what do you think the ride will be? Second, what do you think of my reasoning that it will be a coaster? I believe my ideas are on page 140.

Also, do not assume that my prediction is based on emotion. I truly think that Cedar Point will build a roller coaster. For the record, whatever they build will not affect me too much. Its a long drive from KC to Sandusky.

"Firstof all, I never said its this, period. And secondly, you're now doingexactly what you're whining about me of doing. IT'S A FACT!!! That'sawesome."

I know you never said that it was for sure a certain type of ride. You're one of the smart ones on the board. But I'm not sure what you're getting at here, because you obviously agree with me that we can't tell for certain until CP announces it.

Those of you who can remember, was there any kind of web site dedicated to maXair in 2004? Or was Maverick the only one with a ride dedicated site? I remember seeing commercials for maXair on TV, and Maverick too, which leads me to believe it could be anything. Any info on this?

@DJ: Want to let you know that I looked up the "contract" between DEI and CF. It is only a lisencing agreement, though I do believe that speculation on contracts should not be in the same category as proclaiming a 500ft coaster. No hard feelings? :)

Another thing too. Just my take on the whole hype/marketing thing. When I worked a small, part time job for a marketing team at a small company last year, I know that the point in that was to say/do swomething that would try and create hype. Sometimes it works, and other times it doesn't. Isn't the goal of marketing to try and get someone to buy/use a product? If CF is half as smart as they should be, they would be planting sayings and other marketing gimics to try and create hype, knowing that fans like us will take whatever they are giving us like holy text and absorb and try to deciper every single letter of it, down to the font and font size.

DISCLAIMER: Just my opinion, no "real" evidence to back it up.

Thank you! Nobody has any evidence! Therefore, there all guesses! If they are all guess...then no one can be wrong! Show me the evidence its a flume, coaster, flat, etc. Still waiting on it!

Yeah but, what about Tony's* statement that "you will not get wet on this ride." That seems to preclude a traditional flume, though not perhaps a boat-based dark ride.

I went back and read all the clues again. Someone tell me how this could be a flume with this clue? An Aquatrax makes sense, but one of the clues directly is that it's not an Aquatrax.

Last edited by net,

Didn't they make that tweet at the same time they were conducting extensive safety checks in the park?

Then again NASCAR cars have wheels and harnesses, if they're sticking with that theme in all 3 announcements could be a hint in that direction.

For what its worth, I believe the Pilgrims Plunge boats have wheels as well as OSTR's.

But you get wet on Pilgrims Plunge, or any other of its kin. It's sort of the whole reason for the type of ride.

Yes, but that was according to Screamscape...

Yes that is correct.

And Wicked Twister 90: Yes the PP boats do have both wheels and OTSRs.

It will be nice in a few days when CP narowws it down to one ride type so we can discuss what features this ride will include instead of battling over : COASTER vs FLUME

Log.Flume.For.2010.

I agree with you revoman , but minus the periods though . I dont have quite the complete confidence you do , you must know something i dont to be that confident , although im pretty confident the boats would be shaped like whiskey barrels ,that totally fits the themeing and i think it would look pretty cool .
