How far in advance were the media made aware of the announcements at KD & CW? Just asking.

Crazy Horse - That Scooby Doo ride looks awesome:) I'd be happy with that. Not as good as a coaster, but still pretty cool!

The reason why everyone thinks it will be Intamin is because that is the most likely manufacturer. They didn't rule out Vekoma, you know, but I doubt CP would do that.

djDaemon, it seems to me you like to disregard information or arguments that do not agree with your thinking. For instance, ShiveringTim points out that none of the recent coasters had press events, but it does not affect your theory because marketing 'seems to increase.'

The FACT is this: there is just as much reasoning to support a flume as there is information against it, and the same is true for a roller coaster. Saying "Its a flume. Period." is a stupid move and so is saying "Its a coaster. Period."

Who said CP is going to neglect the media??? Not sure where that is coming from or why it keeps coming up. Of course they are going to invite the media. They sent out a marketing package the other day that looked like a wooden crate. Then maybe, for all we know, on Monday they will announce that there is a press conference scheduled for Monday, September 14th (for example...not literal). Why does a certain someone continue to harp on this, when no one is saying that to begin with? I agree with Jason, "How does not having set a date for an announcement equal neglect?" Maybe next week they will have a set date.

I'm pretty much on board with everything DJ says. It all pretty much makes sense.

True, but I just wanted to point that out in case. Also, this is probably coincidence, but what about Lefty Gardner's 'White Lightnin'? If you visit this site, http://www.p38whitelightnin.com/,you can see that the number on the plane was '13'. I don't think they would take on an airplane theme though, but just another thought.

You could say Cedar Point is doing more. Carowinds and KD didn't send out a teaser media kit. They did something similar for Diamondback. They send out a huge bolt to the media outlets. It came with a note saying it was the smallest bolt on KI's attraction for 2009. That may have come with an announcement date, I don't recall.

I started reading around page 50 so I'm not sure if it's been discussed already, but what are peoples thoughts of the upside-down millennium logo on the Whyte Lightning website?

I just don't know what to make of it.

They already essentially announced a Labor Day announcement.

DJ is not attacking your opinions because theyre different than his , but because they dont make sense or dont have logical backing. He's not being that mean either he's just not sugar coating his responses. If youll notice most of his post are detailed logical responses as to why your idea isnt reasonable or is just ridiculous . I used to think he was mean before as well ....until i realised he made sense most the time . Besides somebody has got to talk some sense into people . cause they are sure as heck not gonna listen to a newbie like me

p.s. im not saying dj is always right , im saying stop complaining about sarcasm

@webber: I believe that it just shows that the new attraction will be built in the area by MF.

Added: I don't think it will be a dark ride because it wouldn't make sense to waste that area in the park on a building.

So your saying that a dark ride would be a waste of space?

There is no logical guess. I believe guess is the keyword right there. NOBODY has any physical evidence of any type of roller coaster, flume, flat, restaurant,bathroom etc. The only reason any one thinks its a flume is because of word of mouth and there own so called "logic". Until there is some sort of physical evidence nobody can say that it is something for sure. And if you do, YOU are the close minded one with no logic.

^^ No? I was saying that it would be a bad idea to put a dark ride in THAT area, not the whole park. Why don't you actually read my post and maybe you will get a clue as to what I'm saying?

You said it would "waste" that area.

I'd say you can use 'logic' fairly well based on that information.
