Yeah, I know how you feel, having been trying to lead some common sense at another site, but the reaction is the same here, "It can't be a flume! Why would they do that?"
On the theming side, I'm really starting to like what I'm seeing, and really hoping that Decker and crew can really go through with some great stuff.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
I missed a day with yesterday's event. After reading the 8+ pages to catch up, I realized I didn't miss a thing.

On second thought let's not go to Six Flags, 'tis a silly place.
Yes, Jason - it's just arguing at this point. "It's a flume!" "No it's not, it's a coaster!" "No it's not, it's a floorless bathroom!" and so on . . .

alright, i've been paying attention to what everyone has been saying on here and whats been going on and heres what i think. i think it going to be a coaster designed by intamin. here is why i think this. unlike what people are saying on here that cedar point is not building hype, in reality they are. with all the hints and clues that are being left on cedarpoint.com on tony and tyler's blog and on cedarpoints facebook and twitter, they are building hype. also, on the Whyte Lightening glass jug, i have a theory for what the three X's on it mean. i think the 3 X's could represent the three new coasters cedar fair is putting in at their parks this coming year. the two intimadators and whyte lightening. i could be wrong but that's my theory. the three X's has to represent something. cedar fair wouldn't put them on there for no reason. i don't believe this ride will be a flume or dark ride or any other ride other than a coaster. they are going through too much trouble leaving hints and keeping details of the ride quite for it to be something like a flume or flat ride. it's even a possibility that the ride won't be open in 2010 and that it will only be in construction then with it opening in 2011. if cedar point is going to build a record breaking coaster, not likely but possible, maybe it will take all of 2010 to build and that whyte lightening will be brewin' in 2010 and arriving in 2011.
my fav. rides:
1) Top Thrill Dragster
1) M-Force
1) Maverick
RaceRinger, you have had convincing logic from the start, but you were incorrect about SRF leaving. Wouldn't you agree that reduces your credibility?

The three Xs have long been known to be placed in cartoons on jugs of alchol (moonshine, whiskey, etc.) so stop trying to make the xs mean something

Hooray! One announcement left! :)
.......Wait, does that count as the final announcement written within the announcement? (Assuming that is what it means)
On second thought let's not go to Six Flags, 'tis a silly place.
Reduces his credibility? No one here has credibility. This entire thread is speculation.
I sure hope this is a coaster.I was hoping for a B&M, but now that that's out I would like to see something unique such as a ZacSpin, Ball Coaster, or Wing Rider.
I just don't see it being a dark ride. An island is a horrible spot for a building, plus I think they would have started constructing a building by now in this climate. There are plenty of spots in the park where a building could fit in...heck, they can tear down the old pirate ride and rebuild there...I can go on and on with locations, but an island????
What confuses me though is Jeff said it is a missing piece in the ride portfolio (not an exact quote), and a dark ride is truly that. I don't consider a flume to be a missing piece because we have SRF and it is staying. And yes, I know SRF is not a true flume, before some smarty responds...I just mean SRF is a true water ride similar enough to a flume.

No. No, you haven't. If you had, you'd have realized that there's no relevancy to the X's on the jugs!

Wrong. They're generating interest - you're creating your own hype.
If this is a coaster, why haven't they announced an event to debut the plans, as they did with their other two coasters being installed in 2010?
it's even a possibility that the ride won't be open in 2010 and that it will only be in construction then with it opening in 2011...
Really? CP is lying to the public? Yeah, that's a brilliant theory, Sherlock.

Woohoo! My floorless bathroom rumor has started to spread. :)
(I wonder if I should patent that idea before all the other parks start building them?)

So, if I don't consider MF to be a coaster, does that make it true?

There has been nothing said by T+T to dubunk my baygull/lakegull habitat theory. You could be on a drive-through cart to see the habitat, and it is family friendly.
well there is no need to attack me over my theories. you djDaemon should accept everyone's theries with an open mind because no one is sure whats going on and any one of us could be right. i don't know how you al allowed on this site. this is a family friendly site but you are attacking everyone over everything. and i do recall seeing something about cedar point having a twitter on this site somewhere. i know for a fact they have a face book but if they don't have a twitter i'm sorry for saying they do. i don't have a twitter so i wouldn't know so if i was wrong i admitt my mistake. and yes cedar point is building hype with these hints and clues. its a a marketing technique designed to build up hype on-line of whatever they are building. and why is everyone dismisssing everyone theories when nothing has been proven. isn't everything possible until stated other wise? have an open mind people and don't attack people over their theries. it's very immature of you. grow up a little bit.
my fav. rides:
1) Top Thrill Dragster

I'm dismissing your "therie" because it doesn't make any sense, given what we know about next year's attraction.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to go grow up. Or something.
Brandon
Is everything possible until stated otherwise? No. There have been many concepts and ideas that have been officially eliminated.
Of those concepts and ideas that remain, there are a select few that separate themselves with a little inductive reasoning.

What are you so angry about? You've been trying to shred every opinion that contradicts your own as soon as it comes along. Jeff can correct me if need be, but I doubt that's supposed to be your job here. Are you free to do so? Yes - thankfully, we still have freedom of speech, but why not keep a cordial tone and focus more on the content rather than snapping at others for the sake of putting them down?
At the end of the day, this is a forum... about an amusement park... for enthusiasts to talk about the park. Is it really worth getting upset over?
