My thoughts

Here's my opinion about it being more than a L-TH-TW-B. For the longest time I was in denial about this thing being L-TH-B. I wanted more and thought this ride wasn't going to be all that it could be. Then a few people made me realize that I was wrong, i.e. CPBound. The fact of the matter is, until there is any real proof of anything more than L-TH-TW-B then it's just not going to happen. There is no concrete evidence. Starting construction early, "it's not cp's style", and all of those other 'hunches' can't be used as real evidence. Secondly, think about this. You're going to be launched from 0-120mph in less than 3 seconds! You will be carried vertically up a 400ft plus hill! I live in Des Moines Iowa and our tallest building downtown is 430ft. Looking at the top of that thing from the ground just gives me chills, just thinking of coming straight down the side of the building. 400ft +!!! So tell me, after you've been launched to 120mph (I don't think some of you realize how fast that is), then climbing a 400ft + hill, crawling over the tophat with some mad air time and looking down at the now obsolete in height Millenium Force(my favorite ride), then plunging down a 400ft + hill then hitting a 270 degree hearline spin, all the while screaming as loud as you can, assuming you can mustar up enough lung power to scream going 120 mph. Now after all of that, how much more adrenaline do you think your body could possibly produce? How much more do you think you could go through? This short ride is gonna kick the **** outta every one of us, every time, and it's going to be oh so sweet. Could there be more done with this ride? Sure, but I don't think I, or many of you, could handle more than this thing is already dishing out. Go ride this thing, then after you get off with a freshly soiled pair of pants and you still think that you want more, then more power to ya, but I'm thinking you'll be more than satisfied.

Sorry, gotta disagree.

I'm sure I'll enjoy the ride, but it took me longer to read your description than what the ride will take.

Nope, I'm not gonna wait hours for a 5 second ride.

I'll wave up to you from the MF hill, then I'll wave to you from the turn-around as your getting off the ride..............

Maybe it'll go around twice? First pass at 120 mph, second pass at 200 mph. Now that would be cool.

The ride will probably be closer to 10-15 seconds long before you hit the brakes, but anyway...:)

Finally someone has put into words how awesome this ride will be. The first time I heard people talking about how simply huge this ride will be, I got chills. It's going to be sweet as hell!

Like I said before Dan, you can make your judgements after you've ridden the ride. I'm not sayin it's not gonna be short, I'm not sayin that Millenium Force isn't my favorite coaster by far. I am saying that this thing is gonna pump more adrenaline in 15 seconds than Millie does in 90 seconds. I love Millie, best coaster I've ever ridden. However, 16 is going to provide an adrenaline rush never felt by most enthusiasts. 16 and Millie are two totally seperate experiences, and I'm not sayin I'm gonna like 16 better. I'm just sayin that 16 will provide more adrenaline, not necessarily better, in the 15 seconds you're on it than Millie does in it's umpteen elements. If you disagree, that's fine. We all think differently, this is just IMHO. Either way, I'll be waiting in line for both Millie and 16, and Raptor, and Mantis, and Wicked Twister, and every other coaster for that matter. Just be prepared for this thing. Don't underestimate the power this thing can pack in the short amount of time you're on it.

I know that this is off of topic, but it was not that big of a deal to start another one, anways I do not know if everybody else stares at the 1st camera like i do, but they now have another work light that is illuminating abou 1/4 of the tower. If they put another one on near the top of the tower they may continue working later than usual
nevermind they shut off the big light
could somebody post the links for the live web cams please?

i don't think you realize that the g forces from going 200 miles per hour would probably kill you. i know of a man who took his motercycle up to 170 and severely damaged his lungs and that 170 was only for like a second. so i hope you realize that 120 is quite possible yet 140 and above could seriously hurt you

...and the real dragster racers (who do reach speeds up to 200 mph) wear the protective suits. :-)

MPH has nothing to do with the amount of G's exerted on your body. It all depends on the radius of the pull up/out and turns. It also depends on the duration of acceleration. If you went 200 mph on this ride, would it be lethal? Probably, but not necessarily because of any positive G's, but the insane negative G's pulled at the top of the tophat, would likely cause people to red out and have an aneurism.

It's not possible for this side to have a second moment of acceleration unless it is put to rest, and the launch mechanism is re-set. The brake run will be the end of the ride...get over it.

all im saying is that 120, 140, 200 mph think about this. you know all those cartoons where the characters lips are being pulled back behind there teeth thats what might happen. not many have traveled up to those speeds with out protective gear and widshields and stuff and lived to talk about it.
i might as well start a topic about it

If you accelerate from 0-200 in like 30 seconds it wouldnt pull that many G's at all. Planes go 500+ Mph and people are fine. Only thing that we would have to worry is about getting hit by somthing at that speed.

Please dont start another topic. No point

planes have shielding blocking the wind and gravitational pull
Does anybody know of any new coaster's that have been shut down for good because they were to hard on the body ?
I've never heard of something that can block gravitational forces. That must be for First Class passengers only.

You guys seem to be forgetting that they wouldn't even be building such a ride if there wasn't a way to avoid these potential problems. Not a single piece of steel is cut until the design of the ride is finalized. That includes testing the dynamic forces a ride subjects it's riders to.

"Hey, Cool. My voice is on the lift"

Hey venom6100, I know that when I went skydiving this past summer, my lips were doing that cartoon character thing that you wrote about!

I didn't mean for my earlier post to sound negative. I guess I shouldn't post before my first cup of coffee in the morning anymore. ;) Please don't misunderstand me, I will be there on opening day, running to the new behemoth!

I think I might have that old school attitude about coasters sometimes. I wanna crawl up a hill, have some hangtime, go through some serious elements, and I want it to last 2 or three minutes. I don't wanna be able to see the entire layout from the entrance. I know, I better get over it, and embrace this new technology. Please let me clarify that I am certainly not complaining about "Sweet Sixteen".

Well here are some solid facts. when in doubt, pull out your calculator.

If you are lauched at 120 Mph, it will crest at 481 feet. Thats a little high from what some of you guys have been saying. but it may be possible.

If lauched 200 Mph understand that it would crest at 1338 feet! so i think we can all say its never going to get that fast. the only thing that gets that high and fast are the "gravity free" planes you see at the airport. LOL venom what the heck!?

I was on screamscape looking at the rumors and they said that intanim is going to build a half pipe and some kind of new coaster in a couple of years they said they have a mold of it and they said that it would be a launch coaster but it would have somthing to do with water like a launch water ride I wonder if Cedar Point is building one of those but I don't think they will.

look at it below and click the link and scroll down untill you see Intanim rember this is just now a modle of the new ride tell me what you think.

P.S. scroll down untill you see Intanim News look for the date that saids 11/26/02
