Mean Streak needs to go.
I think that they will consider a wooden coaster up in the front, eliminate DT and Stadium at the same time and for once and all Demon Drop. Then they can have a woodie on the beach just like Blue Streak.
Blue Streak is a classic but it is old...a lot older then Mean Streak, Blue Streak will eventually have to be retired and another "beach side woodie" is needed.
Mean Streak's land plot has so much size that they could throw in another flat, euro-fighter, and dive machine.
My only thoughts are the fact that the park's crowds with these kind of adjustments (even Blue Streak remained while another woodie went up across the midway from it where DT / DD / Stadium stands) would all stay roughly from Power Tower / TTD and up in the park. Aka the back of the park would be busy but the front would lack traffic.....
Or families could "work their way" to the back through the infinite amounts of top notch rides.
Just by what Mean Streak offers...is nothing quite like what Cedar Point has aimed for (the coolest rides around). But you can say the same for Disaster Transport......
It's all speculation, but those 2 spots (Wicked Twister midway), and Mean Streak's area are up for remodeling....
Another realistic guess is that they could put up a log flume / euro-fighter / dive machine all back where Mean Streak stands, and they add another woodie where DT / DD / Stadium stands. The log flume in the back could try and keep what "frontier" aspect that area has.
^Why do you consider Blue Streak old? It was built in 1964 and there are countless wooden coasters still operating that were built in the 1920s and 30s. It also got a major retracking done a few years ago and has been running extremely well, not to mention the new work they did to the trains this year with the belt retractors (which by the way also happened to Mean Streak.)
Also, again, they just did work to the stadium to have a stunt show there, which has been quite popular, why would they remove it now?
Usually you can somewhat guess when a ride/show is going to go, its one that hasnt been upgraded or repainted in a few years (they do 5 year plans.) Everything you mentioned with the exception of DT had work done this off season.
Why would they go to the trouble of removing their existing log flume only to install a new one next door a few years later? Even Kinzel is smarter than that.
And why would they want to get rid of Blue Streak? It was built in 1964, not 1904. It's a perfectly serviceable, smaller woodie that attracts lots of families. Just because something is old doesn't automatically mean it should be retired.

Mean Streak isn't that bad in the front of the first two cars, but when I rode in the back I came back to the station with a VERY sore back.

Heck, you could eliminate the excess queue inside of MS and put an assortment of flats and maybe even a Zak Spin or Screamin Squirell inside of it. Not that it will happen, but Mean Streak just takes up so much room that it would be possible.
Or you could start a ride outside MS, near the planning & design, and have it run through MS structure and go inside the large open middle.
Wow, first post and the only "proof" is that he stole DK's resume. I'm going to chalk this one up in the BS department, but Dave does bring up a good point about the space between MS and Gemini.

Quite possibly MS could be getting re-tracked and who knows GCI might do it we don't know. Even as the others have stated they might put a ground ride in, in the unused queue space for example a ride like Arrow 360 at Kennywood or Fireball I think it is at Dorney because I think CP lacks ground rides that go upside down.
3 things you can't talk about with people you don't know is religion, politics, and roller coasters!
I think CP is going to put the Big Dipper in between MS and the railroad and you could eliminate the excess queue inside of MS and use it for the Big Dipper Queue.
As CP junkies, we should have a poll.....
Re-work the Wicked Twister midway (aka DT / DD / Stadium)....or Mean Streak / Gemini area....
Than what kind of ride would you like it to be replaced or added to the equation.
I would like to see MS retracked, the design of the ride itself is good, it's got good hills and a nice long length, it's just too rough. Somewhere it would be nice to have a good dark ride or themed ride, that it not too intense, but a good middle coaster for older kids, something a step up from Adventure Express at KI.
Has anyone thought of the possibility that they might just be replacing some wood on MS? I mean it's wood and wood rots. If you pay close attention you can always tell the newer wood from the older wood.

They inspect the wood on MS very ofter. I doubt that they would sent the higher ups out there to look at wood when they have maint for that.

I'm not going to get all geeked up about this but if the pictures posted earlier are legit then no...this didn't have anything to do with wood inspection. You don't need a survey crew to inspect wood.
