My wife is a MILF and I think she is perfectly at ease with it. Better than being a MIWNLF.

^^Thanks for the support chief.
This thread is so far off topic now it isn't funny. To try and steer is back on course a little...I have seen some M.I.L.F. in line for MS that made the day a little brighter. ;)

I think the building between MS and Gemini could be made use for something else. Maybe construct a flume/dark ride combination with that building being the dark ride part of the attraction. Create a "mountain" to hide it all, along with the CP&LE running underneath and Boneville relocated inside that tunnel (just like the Disney rail roads and Splash Moutnain). The course of the new flume can even run through the bottom and inside of MS since that part of the queue barely gets any use.
I never noticed how much room is inside MS. I never noticed the que line in the bowl since i have never been in it.

I waited in full que that extended out to the railroad crossing the first year Mean Streak opened.

Actually, even though it was rough from the outset I didn't mind waiting that long. Remember, back then there weren't too many big coasters and it certainly was an EVENT.
Now, I do remember the opening year of Iron Dragon and that line was pretty long too. We should have taken the hint...the trains were coming back and people were actually "booing". I like Iron Dragon but it was not worth a 2-3 hour wait.

Im pretty sure I remember someone posting last year that Mean Streak had a full queue during a Halloweekends Saturday last year too.
Why tear down a great wooden roller coaster? Because a coaster is wooden and rough it is no reason to be taken it down. Create this post 2-3 years after mean streak is build and see your results. You would maybe see 1 post saying take it down. You have all, including me have gotten used to world record breaking roller coasters, and each time they are smother than the last. I mean in 1989, Magnum was the smoothest. roller coaster on earth. Wooden roller coasters aren't build to be smooth. The are supposed to be out of control, not perfectly build hills and banks. It is supposed to make you feel like you are going to fall off the track, to an extent. The beast is considred by many to be the best wooden coaster out there, and is so much rougher than mean streak. I mean they don't ever compare in smoothness. Also i have had many rides on mean streak that were smoother, it depends on time of the day, weather conditions, amount of riders on the train, and track condition. Now i am not saying it doesn't need a track resurface similar to blue streak.
Mean Streak being rough isn't necessarily the problem. The problem, for me at least, is that there is no airtime. Even if you think you might get a bit at a certain point, you won't.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
It does lack airtime that is probably once had, because of the Trims on the drop. Since it no longer, or never really was the HUGE hit in the park, and was mostly overshadowed by Magnum, Raptor, and Mantis, they can slow the ride down to save on Maintenance, especially with structural problems that woodies can have. Still no reason to tear it down, but more airtime would make people have different, mostly better feelings about leaving it alone.
The Mean Streak would be an awesome coaster if it wasn't so rough. I am sorry, but I do not want to feel like I fell down the stairs after riding a coaster. When I go to CP I want to enjoy the day. Not walk around with a sore neck and back. I guess that is why it is called the "Mean" Streak though. :)

My daughter and I got two great rides on MS today. In the afternoon we walked on to green train 2-1, and had a delightful ride. Rough, but not overly so. The second ride was after dark -- and MS certainly delivers the goods after the sun goes down. Rode on gold, 3-1. This time it was a little rougher, but not painfully so. It seemed to shuffle more, especially on the curves. My daughter noticed the difference; not bad for six!
One thing I reflected on today, thinking about the (apocryphal, probably) possibility that MS might be going, is that it truly is a gorgeous coaster to watch. Just great sight lines all around. I can't think of a larger or more ambitious Bobs-type design anywhere in the world. Can anybody else? Aesthetically speaking, MS is a lovely structure in a lovely spot -- the tip of the exclamation Point.

Try rideing 7-1 if the train is 100% full. For some reason it is really a great ride. Me and my sister rode 5 times in about 15-20 minutes. 3-1 through 6-1 are really rough. Just my opinion about 7-1. Try it once.
Sometimes, the color makes the difference, it seems to me that Green is the Fastest, but roughest, Red is the smoothest, and gold runs slower than the other two. I noticed the speed going on the huge banked turns. Riding on gold felt like i was going to roll back.
Don't get me wrong, Mean Streak is painful, but try riding the back of The Rattler at SFFT. That is absolute hell!

Well if great is the criteria, then Mean Streak definitely doesn't need to be saved. The ride is terrible. It has never been good. It's not even particularly rough, it's just boring and uninspired. If you really think that's a good ride, you need to get out and ride others.

Aw, it's not that bad. It's a good example of the state of the art of woodies at the time of its design. Seems like the thinking at the time was, "Let's take the elements and layouts that have existed before this and go really big with them." No, it doesn't have much in the way of airtime. But it's still fun seeing the Riverview Bobs-style layout built to a really big scale.
It's no more boring and uninspired than Blue Streak for its time or Gemini for its. If you try to compare it to the insane transitions and plunges of a modern Gravity Group design, of course it will suffer in comparison. But the idea is that maybe you shouldn't try...to compare it, that is.
