Going back a page, I would like to know how Mine Ride could possibly have a "more complicated" lap bar check than Mean Streak. Mine Ride's lap bars are all tied together on each car, are closed by the platform attendant, and have only one locking position, and the seat belts are shared. That means that they have to check fifteen seat belts and five lap bars. By comparison, Mean Streak has individual seat belts and individual lap bars, which means 28 of each to check.
Just wondering, that's all... :)

MS does not involve the attendants having to manually lower and raise the lap bars via foot petals every load/unload.
Not to mention having to physically jam the lap bar down onto the most obese rider in each car to get it to latch, for almost every car (it seems).

Announcement: If anyone knows when there is a concrete day for the announcement for the announcement, would you announce it here? Much appreciated :)
A concrete day for a wood coaster?

Sure; why not? Have you been out to Six Flags St. Louis? The entire space beneath Evel Knievel is paved over with concrete.

I would be willing to bet my bonus check that nothing serious is happening to Mean Streak for next season.
If Cedar Point were to remove Mean Streak for Good, they would have to start on it right after the season ends. It would probably be a 2 year project that would be ready by 2010. In my mind, I feel like they might try to just keep Mean Streak by Re Tracking it a little bit for 2009.
