Mean Streak is history!

^Dick Kinzel is the head of Cedar Fair. Unless President, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer means something else these days.

John Hildebrandt is in charge of Cedar Point, although I'm sure Kinzel still has a lot to say since he's at the park every day.

^ Yeah, he was walking up and down the beach boardwalk multiple times when I was there. Oh well, it's nice to know that he cares about the best park ever. :)

Two words: Log Flume
Honestly, if it were better maintained, the park could really use one.

I doubt they'll add one right after scrapping WWL.

If they could retrack Mean Streak to where it wasn't painful, which I doubt they will, that would be great. If they were to make it less rough they should definitely ditch the trim break on the drop. I doubt it has any airtime anyways, but it would certainly improve the ride from it's current state.

I'm looking forward to my first ever trip to Kings Island tomorrow to ride the Beast and son. See what a real wooden coaster should feel like. I love Cedar Point but I wish they had several acres of forest land that they could build a terrain coaster through.

Beast was great. Not particularly a huge amount of airtime but a fun ride through the woods. Son of Beast wasn't awful but it wasn't great. The speed was there but the elements weren't. I don't understand why SoB doesn't run 3 trains. Is there a reason for that? And they must have moved the camera because I don't think it was before the lift hill. Racer was a really good coaster though. Why don't they run the backwards train anymore?

I wonder why my post was deleted.

They don't run racer backwards anymore because Cedar Fair decided not to run any trains "against manufacturer specifications" or something. The backwards racing coasters at Carowinds and Kings Dominion got turned around too. I imagine its just so they can close down one side and staff less people.

It was deleted because you quoted the previous post unnecessarily.

The trains were turn back around on all coasters because that is what they were orignally designed to do. It's just like riding on the front handle bars of somone elses bicycle. You maybe be able to sit there while the bike is moving, but the handle bars are not a second seat. Personally, riding backswards on of those coasters was uncomfortable and unenjoyable.

On the subject of backwards. I think it would be kind of cool to be launched on TTD backwards. I know there is rollbacks that you do go backwards. The only problem i could see is the sudden g force that would pull you away from the seat would really hurt. I think the anticipation of not being able to see the lights would be great. Seeing the ground fall away at 120 mph would be cool too.

That sounds more uncomfortable than riding Firehawk (X-Flight).

You don't even need to use carats. My God, doesn't anyone remember how to use written communication? Do you sit around with your friends and poke them twice to let them know you're talking to them about their second to last thought? No. You say, "Well Johnny, I agree that Veronica Mars clearly had a policy to reference The Big Lebowski in every episode, though I only noticed it in season 3."

I noticed more Battlestar Gallatica references than Big Lebowski, but now people are pointing out BL references that I totally missed the first viewing.

Hey, look at that, no carats.

Never go to MySpace groups if overquoting is a peeve. The folks over there can make them 25 levels deep!!!!! (VERY annoying!)
