Mean Streak is history!

I think Detroits picture posts do lend credence to the idea that something might be occuring near the Mean Streak. Does that mean that Mean Streak is coming down? Of course not.

Maybe they are using the survey equipment to make sure it is not sinking like Magnum is. :)

They are plotting the land to mount the hearline roll memorial. They have been saving it to make a statue.

I like the Mean Streak and I doubt Kinzel will pull it out. Also, any talk of pulling out the Blue Streak is just nuts! It is one of the classic signatures of Cedar Point.

The most important part of this whole thread was largely overlooked, though. The important point is that you saw Dick Kinzel out in the park. Dick has ALWAYS spent a lot of time in the park observing and talking to guests. I admire him for keeping in touch with the real business and his guests.

I did say that was in the news section, by the way. Not hard to find.

Yeah, thanks. But perhaps you should have noted the correct news source:

...they have this weird debt to deal with first...(from the Sandusky Register article in the News section)

And anyhow, it seems pretty clear to me that he's not referring to rides. He's saying that they're not going to be adding major additions, such as parks, hotels and the like, until they deal with some or all of the Paramount debt.

So rides that range in the price range of Maverick and TTD are not considered major additions...huh, and for some reason I thought it was a large investment requiring careful planning and design, not unlike hotels, parks, and the like.

And to deal with debt, you can start with the easiest task: waiting awhile to build something new, which, from what I read, is the intent for the next few years, not including the current additions, of course, for this year.

Their shift in focus on their flagship park is a great start, and hopefully will be reflected in their other, stronger, parks to help cover the Paramount deal, a dead horse, but still.

Why would CF essentially devalue their parks through neglect in order to acquire other parks? That doesn't make sense if you're trying to add value to a company, does it?

And again, there's a huge difference between a $1,000,000,000 acquisition and a $25,000,000 attraction.

Planet snoopy did not cost them that much to begin with. All the attractions there were already owned by them. All the park did was paint the rides and add some new concrete. This was a minimal investment for profit.

If you're replying to me, loneranger, I wasn't implying that PS did cost that much. I was referring to the cost of Maverick (or TTD or MF).

i was not replying to anyone really. I was just stating something that i thought.

To me that word is degrading and distasteful to use in reference to a woman. Your age has nothing to do with it.

Strawberry preserves with crunchy peanut butter! Yum!

I have been called a MILF and I don't think it's degrading. I think when people use that term, they arn't really saying that they want to **** you. They are basically saying, "Wow, you had a kid but you still look really good."

"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"

It was not mean't to be degrading in any way. I was just trying to lead this thread further down the path of insanity which it was already heading. If it offended anyone I apologize.
