Don't hold your breath on that one.
Yeah, it's too bad.
I just don't see why they wouldn't. If they truely listened to the guests about the Mantis experience and changed it because of the numerous complaints, then it seems obvious that they would focus on changing MS in the next few years. I feel that between Mantis and MS, MS was the most plausible candidate for transformation, and that the park would get the most ROI for it. Not to mention taking its popularity through the roof and I don't get the sense that that happened for Rougarou. I'm sure it is much better, but from what I hear it is not that different. An Iron Horsing of MS would be a much more noticeable change.
I'm sure it much more popular, especially among the GP. And I'm sure I will enjoy the ride experience much more. However, I have heard very mixed opinions of it from much more enjoyable to nothing has changed. I will hold my judgement until I actually ride it, but I still hold the opinion that an Iron Horsing of MS would be a much more noticeable and popular transformation.
Never did I say that Rougarou was not popular or a mistake. It was a change that needed to happen.
I always liked Mantis, but that is because the trains were comfortable for me and the layout was exciting. Many more people will like Rougarou because the floorless trains are comfortable to many more people.
Rougarou is Mantis sitting down, I don't know why anyone was expecting anything different and expecting something to be changed. It's a fast, thrilling ride with a great layout, now with more comfortable seating. I thought the stand up trains gave a more intense ride because of the riding position, but the floorless trains are actually more fun because the ride now is all about the various elements instead of withstanding the G forces while standing. I think a lot of people will agree that Rougarou is a lot of fun and the ride will maintain its popularity just like Raptor has.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I cannot see a Refurb-arou of MS being done soon or at least as the featured 'New for 2016 or 2017' ride unless CP is looking for Refurb Capital of The World title. It would just get thrown out there and unless something major went along with it, it would stick.
In addition, that section of the park looks pretty dang good already appearance wise and more attention could be spent other places sooner.
But hopefully three years or so after a couple of other featured attractions are added.
New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus
The Mantis refurbishment job gives me hope for MS. While MS seemed to be slightly faster this past weekend than it's been when I've ridden it the past several years, I just can't see why they wouldn't transform such a beautiful, massive structure into something that will draw people to it more than once per year. I, personally don't see it for another 3 years, unless the newly cleared land is not used for another coaster, then it would probably come sooner. Based on what I've seen from RMC, I would prefer them re-doing MS to building a new dive coaster. I think a steel Mean Streak would be a much more exciting.
