Unfortunately, most of what makes TC unique compared to the other RMC coasters is a result of Colossus having been a racing coaster.

As much as everyone says of how much they don't like Mean Streak. If they were to convert it like what Six Flags is doing, that would make Blue Streak as the only traditional wooden roller coaster in the park. Plus, Mean Streak is a couple years away from being a Historic Landmark right?

What that have to do with anything? I can think of a few "historic coasters" that have been subsequently raised or SBNO.
Rode it tonight and the trims on the first hill just suck.

Monday there were a bunch of key chains and magnets for a buck each for dollar days. I bought one each of the Mean Streak ones because I'm a weirdo I guess and it only came to 54 cents. The cashier said they're all a dollar each except for Mean Streak which is only 25cents because nobody likes Mean Streak.
Did the cashier say Mean Streak items were a quarter because nobody likes Mean Streak, or did the cashier say Mean Streak items were a quarter, end of sentence? Were they a quarter because the ride is "unpopular" or were they a quarter because they ended up with too much inventory?
There were just as many magnets and such of other rides as Mean Streak, including Mantis. Mantis was still a buck. She said the words "because nobody likes Mean Streak". I answered with "other than us crazy people, I guess."
Katie, you are so right. Most people do not like the Mean Streak at CP. It's a rough ride. I think the problem is taking out these ride or even trying to sell them takes millions of dollars.

After riding The Voyage, at least 15 times and Raven nearly as many times, this past Saturday at Holiday World, I can finally say, without a doubt, that Mean Streak is a terrible coaster. And half of the times I rode were in downpours.
I loved those 2 coasters, so much that we are heading back down from Detroit for the October 11th weekend.
I WILL be going back there, at least twice per year from now on. This is what happens when a park might have only a few coasters, but extremely good ones
As a solid wood coaster, Mean Streak will never qualify as even a mediocre ride, in my book. I thought it was fun before they installed the trim on the first drop. Now it is just too boring.
My last ride on MS was many years ago, but it was bad enough the last few times to ensure I will never ride it again, no matter what they do to it. Tearing it down isn't the right thing to do though. Burning it would be far more fitting.
Rode Mean Streak, yesterday. Best line I heard all day was while exiting Mean Streak. Woman said that Mean Streak was not designed for anyone with t*ts.
With all of the maintenance required for such a boring ride, I just can't quite understand doing something with Mantis while leaving this ride the way it is.
Maybe the women should wear a bra?
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Guess I don't get out enough. While not my favorite coaster I find when I am up there with my daughter we always ride it at least once, usually twice at her insistence. I like it better now than a few years ago - I feel I don't get as beat-up now as I did then. But I don't enjoy it nearly as much now as I did when it was new...and didn't have brakes hanging you up on the first drop...and rides when we'd get through the mid course without hitting more trim brakes were best of all.
Anyhow I'd not call the ride "boring."
What wooden coasters within a days drive of Cedar Point ought I experience to enhance my perspective? Bonus points if my 48" daughter can ride them, too.
I like The Voyage at Holiday World better than any of Cedar Point's coasters. I rode it for the first time over the Labor Day weekend and loved it so much, I am going back on October 9th. No, it's not around the corner from Cedar Point. It's about 1 hour west of Louisville. They have 2 other woodies that are 100 times better than Mean Streak. If you do ride The Voyage, you will only shake your head the next time you ride Mean Streak and tell yourself how boring it is. I agree about how much more fun MS was before they put a mega-grabbing brake on the best part of it.
By the way, Pete, are you an expert on how boobs bouncing on a roller coaster feel? LOL
I've ridden all the coasters at Holiday World; Voyage is one of my favorites. But I enjoy Mean Streak as well.
I do not like Mean Streaks trims either. Usually at night they have them open.

How about Kennywood for a park within a drives day of Sandusky with some good wood coasters? And there are some other rides there that are fun as well.
My favorite wood coasters are the Voyage at Holiday World, Thunderhead at Dollywood and Renegade at Valley Fair. Though none of those parks is likely a days drive from Sandusky (Holiday World is close to one for me but I don't mind driving).
