All season I rode in the front row and it was perfectly smooth and then the last trip I took there (10-25) I rode in the second to front and it was horribly rough.
That's because you weren't in the front seat of a car. If you want to ride Mean Streak and not be shaken to hell, sit in the front seat of a car, any car.
I want to be able to enjoy the ride anywhere on the train which is why something should be done with MS.
I want to be wealthy, healthy, stress-free, and with a lovely, caring family. That has nothing to do with entitlement, it's just want I want. Oh, and how is it entitlement to want to be able to get off of an amusement ride amused rather than in pain?? :-/
Sorry, forgot you just like to provoke people then pounce on them. Feel free to ignore this post.

I rode it closing day. It was my only ride of the season on it, but man it ran fast without the trim brake doing much. It was not an enjoyable ride though.
That said that trim is absolutely neccessary. The ride would not be comfortable even for just an average rider, let alone some of us tested veterans.
Wooden coasters have come a long way in design. It really may be time to replace it. There are significantly better rides out there they could build there. What they do will be determined by the turnstile. If it declines to a point where fixing it seems unwarrented then they won't do it and find something else there that will bring people not just back there, but to the park in general.
I Miss the Pirate ride.
^ Funny you say that when you're the one who usually calls people entitled on here.

If someone expects, for example, CP to lower their prices so as to make it affordable to their family, that is entitlement.
Suggesting that every other seat on a coaster shouldn't provide an awful, painful ride experience is not entitlement.

Wood coasters are known to be rough. That's part of the experience. If it's too much for someone, then they just simply shouldn't go on it.

I enjoy reading threads about this subject, mostly because I'm just fascinated that so many people have so many different experiences on the same ride.
I have been riding MS since it opened and ride it multiple times every season since. I'm a 46 year old female, have been every weight imaginable in those 23 years, and have never had a bad experience on MS. I enjoy it very much whether in the front car, the middle, or the last car. No headaches, no back problems, just plain fun for me.
My hubby however hasn't ridden it since the late 90's. He says it's "brutal", much like the other opinions stated here.
So while a re-do isn't necessary for me to continue to ride MS, if it helps get others back on MS, I'd be all for it.

That's nonsense. A well-maintained and designed ride is not rough. See Blue Streak before and after the Canadians rehab'd it.

I have to disagree. I think it's that trim brake on the first hill totally kills the ride. We rode it three times closing day and they were by far the best rides we've had on that coaster all season. We were actually getting some airtime. I really think the faster it runs the better the ride is. It will never compare to Blue Streak for airtime and smoothness but I think trimless rides are a real treat.
I'm not going to reprint a Rideman rant, but higher speed does seem to help the ride because it's more likely to "stick" to the outside of the turns instead of shuffle through them.

Needless to say that looks awesome. But it would also mean lowering Cedar Point's line of woodies to just one and 3 hybrids. I have a question though and keep in mind i have absolutely no experience with No Limits. But how did you get the rest of the CP skyline in the background?
