I don't think Millennium Force is a bore, it's a fun rollercoaster and still my #1 coaster. Now Maverick might change my mind a little, but Millennium Force will never be boring to me. :)
Those people that say MF is a bore are out of their minds! I really think they say that for attention or to get a rise outta people. I say one guy that said MF is a bore but thought Hulk at IOA was in his top 5. That is the most boring coaster I have ever been on by far.
People love to hate Cedar Point know matter what they do.
Goofy!
^..Yeah its the number one amusement park on the planet for what, 9 years in a row now? and some people are convinced SF is better..ha oh well.

After riding it last night, it's definitely my new favorite in the park. After it rained last night, around 9pm it stopped and Maverick was a walk on from then until close. Got in line around 9:30pm and rode it 4 times, front seat is awesome! But pretty much there was probably 30 people all riding it over and over again, it was fun. The park was completely empty after 9, it was weird.

I do like to get a rise from people when I say MF is boring. But it is a fact with me. I liked it the first couple of yrs. But, now think it is a boring ride to me. Yes, it has a great first drop and the following overbank. But after that, I want to take a nap. Everyone has their own opinions. That is what makes us special. What fun would it be if everyone liked the same thing? A friend and I call MF the World's Tallest Kiddie Coaster. :)
^..Thats why its the number 2 coaster in the world?

Apparently that is why. yeah they do get boring after a while if you keep thinking how boring it is. You just have to make it fun.

What I think MF has going for it is the "wow" factor. It's all about height, speed, and smooth transitions. The fact that it is so well engineered to be smooth is why many find it dull after they get past that initial "wow" of the first drop. Try riding with your eyes closed and you'll know how little force it actually puts on your body. You can't even tell the overbanks out on the island are there - might as well be flat track.
I still like to ride it. Won't wait much more than the bottom of the ramp or so.
After many, many rides on Magnum and MF, I still prefer Magnum.
To get back on topic: Maverick is a good ride. Best in the park? No.
To being an "us" for once - instead of a "them"
I can sort of sympathize with people on the bore factor over Millennium. While I still love the coaster, it's not what it use to be. I guess that's the result of having been on it over 200 times since it debuted.:)
Actually, the only time I was ever actually deterred from riding Millennium was last year during a school trip (which Dragster wasnt open for due to winds:(). The trains were creeping over the hills and that didnt provide ANY airtime what-so-ever. After the 7th ride, I just gave up and ran 7 laps nonstop on Magnum.;)
Anywho, is Maverick the best ride in the park? No
Is it a kicka** ride? You betcha!:)

So... are you back to saying Dragster is the best ride of the park? Come on Adam... you need to come to grips with your Coasteruality. You have an avatar that says Maverick is your new #1 Coaster, yet you say its not the best ride in the park...
I think you need to come to grips with your feelings...

Hey, I may be up at the park later in the day on Sunday. It will also be my first time on Maverick. From the reviews, it sounds like it may quickly take Millennium Force's spot at the top of my list. Of course, maXair was close to edging it out of #1 on my ride list at the Point, actually.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Ok as an employee and having rode it 16 times I think its my fav ride ever next to the VOYAGE and if you ask me at the photo booth I will gladly tell you the same. And my TL dosent like that I say its the 2nd best coaster Ive ever ridden lol.
However I do think its the best at CP. And when guest ask why Im just like well umm.... gee I guess you have to ride it. I have not heard one person get off it and say. I wasted my time I should have rode ttd or mf lol.
I'll throw my hat into the "Magnum is overrated" ring. Actually, I may be alone in that ring, on here at least....
Maggie's not even a Top 10 coaster overall for me (I don't separate wood and steel, though if I did it would probably still not be in my Top 10). And no, it has nothing to do with a lack of taste or class. I think it's a good ride, and every now and then I think it delivers a Top 10 experience. However, it's too inconsistant for my taste, and there are rides where I come off, dare I say it, bored. I rate it along with similar rides like Mamba and Wild Thing, and figure that sentimentality must still play a huge part in the attraction towards this ride from a lot of people. That being said, it's all a matter of personal opinion, and those who like it better than anything are just as right as those like myself who don't even have it in their Top 5 at CP.
MF is still #1 for me, and I don't get all the talk of it being boring. There's still nothing more invigorating for me than a ride on that baby to open the day! However, Maverick is certainly right there nipping at it's heels, and I could see the potential for a takeover at some point, especially if they ever add the rest of that theming that was in the original concept art. I currently have Mavie at #3 overall, right behind Phantom's Revenge and MF, and jockeying for position with another coaster that is just all out insanity to ride: The Voyage. Truthfully, every coaster I've mentioned in this post is fun to ride, so I guess in the end, that's all that matters! :)
Take care and God bless!
Why isn't Raptor higher on people's lists? It seems like it's between Magnum, MF, and Maverick for a lot of people. Is airtime the only thing that counts? To me, those three don't even come close to Raptor! I guess I need to gain more of an appreciation for airtime. To me if it causes pain it goes down on the list. Coasters at CP that cause pain: Magnum, Maverick, Mantis, Mean Streak...too many Ms.
Raptor is my third or fourth favorite CP coaster, ahead of rides like TTD and Magnum. I think if airtime was all that counted, so many people wouldn't like MF. I think it's the mega-airtime crowd that is in love with Magnum, though the two airtime hills on Maverick provide better air than any on Magnum.
I find Raptor to be pretty rough at times as well, especially when you hit the brake run. It's still a great coaster though, of that there's no doubt!
Take care and God bless!

Kinda like "military" and "intelligence"?
Why do people give MF so little credit as an airtime coaster? The two airtime hills over the island are among the best in the park (right alongside Magnum's third hill). Ejector air is always fun, but floater air is what does it for me and MF gives it to me good. That is just one of the reasons why MF remains my #1 (Magnum is a close #2).
