I just went to the park on the 25-26 and I rode Maverick 6 times (each w/ about a 1 hr. wait). The ride was way more intense than i expected. The back seat was awsome because it had major airtime and wiplash over the bunny hills. Imo the front seat was the best because you get an awsome view. This ride is tied with millennium force in my book, but only because Millennium is really tall.
Then on the 7th day, God went to CEDAR POINT
Maverick is my #1 coaster there. so far I have been on it 5 times. I know it may not seem like much compared to a lot of you, (I know one of you said you rode it 14 times?) but I like to keep my cp trips spread out more cuz I like to take other ppl on that maverick a lot. At first, it was a tie between MF and that, then I rode it more to really decide. Here are my top 5:
1. maverick
2. MF
3. Magnum
4. TTD
5. raptor
Millennium is the best. Then Dragster. Than Maverick.
BTW, I rode in the last row on the black train on the 27th, and I have just one thing to say.
Mantis, you are no longer the "Nut Cruncher" to me, Maverick is on its first drop when you lift out of your seat and come back down on the front center part of the seat. *** Edited 6/28/2007 5:04:34 AM UTC by Phantom 1898***

Not all of us have rode that many times. I'm yet to get that many times on Maverick. So Far I've rode it 2 times. Great coaster and is in my top 5 lineup.
Ride count doesnt really matter, it's what you and others think of the ride that matters.
You can go on a coaster over 1000 times, but that only means it's because you like it and have the ability to go on it to your hearts content. It doesnt make you a special person.....because you're not the only one to have been on it. And being on it X amount of times doesnt make your rides any special from the next persons. It's not a competition......isn't that right Mark?:)

Maverick is not the best ride at Cedar Point. Based on what I prefer personally it is right there with Raptor as #4 or # 5 in the park as far as coasters go. It is a super ride and should get Cedar Point lots of accolades this year. But I'm afraid its going to be known in the future as one of the more uncomfortable rides there. Millenium Force, TTD and Magnum are just so unbelievable. It falls just outside my top 10 as far as steel coasters go. My top 10 is listed below for anyone who cares.
Top 10 Steel Coasters
# 1 : Millenium Force : Cedar Point
# 2 : Superman ROS : 6 Flags New England
# 3 : TTD : Cedar Point
# 4 : Magnum XL 200 : Cedar Point
# 5 : Volcano; the Blast Coaster : Kings Dominion
# 6 : Goliath : SFOG
# 7 : Nitro : 6 Flags Great Adventure
# 8 : Apollos Chariot : BGE
# 9 : Goliath : 6 Flags MM
#10: Xcelerator : Knotts Berry Farm
I like Rockets and Hypers....
Volcano above Apollo's Chariot? hmm..
Anyway... I tried to think of it in a different way, and here's what I think:
Is Maverick the best ride under 120 feet? Definitely.
Is it better than the rides between 120 and 200 feet? Probably.
However, once I get to 200 feet, I don't think that it's better than Maggie, MF or TTD.
