^^ Well, let me be the first one to welcome you to Pointbuzz, Strassenfest.
To me, Maverick has pretty much got some of everything and something for everything. There's a nice launch coupled with a breathtaking drop. The overbanked turns are awesome and plentiful. The inversions are well done. The airtime hills are a bunch of fun. The launch tunnel and subsequent turn over the pond are really cool.
And there are probably a couple of things that I left out, as well as things such as helices and pretzel loops that Maverick doesn't have. The list above is enough reasoning for me to be enthralled by Maverick.
I just rode Maverick yesterday and personally didn't like it as much as others have. I loved the fast lift and the airtime on the drop and first bunny hill, but i expected a better launch. I only rode it once due to the 2 hour line (and due to the fact that I would rather wait for TTD). The twists hurt my neck from the otsr's, but maybe next time will be better. As of now, it's my 4th favorite ride in the park.

Maverick best ride in park? No...
Millennium and Magnum have it beat by far. Maverick is amazing in how it feels as if you are riding a bucking horse, however it beats you up too much at the same time. I would love Maverick if it wasn't for the horsecollars, they are perfect for hitting your head on, or if your arms are up, then you get bruises on your arms.
*Sigh* I wish people would just hold onto the handrails, follow the riding instructions and stop complaining about a ride being too rough. I admit, it took me years to figure it out but I think I've sufficiently proved I'm "tough/cool/carefree enough" to ride without holding on, now I'd rather just enjoy the ride and leave the park at the end of the day without a nagging headache.

Here, here!
Especially in the case of Maverick... it's really the best way to enjoy it!

Wow, not to be the killjoy, but it's been a week since anyone has posted in this forum. I haven't ridden the ride yet, but I would think the newest CP coaster would be talked about just a little bit more. Or maybe, there's nothing left to say.
I'm gonna have to ask. Where have you been looking? Obviously not in the "Maverick" forum section. There are pages upon pages upon pages of threads about Maverick. If there is anything that is not talked about enough on this site... it's Chaos... maybe the best flat in the park IMO :D

I'd have to say Millennium Force is still my most favorite in the park just because of how much I love everything about it. Maverick though comes in second place for me because it has a lot of speed in it and it never lets up until the brake run. After the Launch you feel like your flying through the circuit. In my opinion, Maverick is like Raptor because of the speed it offers.
I rode Maverick for the first time two days ago and as everyone knows there is nothing like the first time on a roller coaster. My expectations for Maverick were really low going into it. I like huge hills, tons of speed and a very smooth ride. But I was shocked at how intense and fun Maverick. I still like MF better, it is just a perfect coaster for what I like, but Maverick is clearly my second favorite without question. Much better than TTD which I also rode for the first time and 100X times better than the horrible Wicker Twister
