Maverick best ride in the park? Yes or no

Yes, it is the best ride in the park.

Oh, and by the way, I have NO IDEA why Cedar Point doesn't market the ride as still having three inversions. The twisted horseshoe thing is closer to vertical than it is to sideways. It's more vertical than Mantis's Oblique loop.

Best ride hands down. It's great to see CP realizing that they don't have to build the tallest, fastest to satisfy guests. I even rode skyhawk 4 times my last visit and that was cheap by CF standards; another great addition.

no. it is awesome, and unique compared to the rest of the park. but the best ride in the park is the chili cheese fries. woah, talk about a long, 6 hour ride with a rough finish ;)

Before I rode in the front seat with an under-15-minute wait yesterday, I didn't think it could beat out Magnum for my favourite ride in the park.

...But I've been wrong before. :)

Maverick is great, but Magnum's keeps on dominating after 18 years (even if she bumps into herself every now and then).

Now Maverick against Top Thrill Dragster is another story...

I am still wondering how the hell this thing will top Maggie.

June 26th cannot come fast enough.

I have to say after riding Maverick more, it has definately replaced MF as my favorite ride... MF is still fun, but riding it right after riding Maverick just isn't the same anymore.

Just out of curiosity, for all of those whose favorite coaster is Magnum, have you been riding it since 1989?

I was the first couple people that came in the PARK to Ride on the Front Seat on the MAGNUM when it was made in 1989. It was my 4th Best Coaster for a few yrs, but I've moved that back. My #1st MILLENNIUM FORCE, #2nd TOP THRILL DRAGSTER, #3rd RAPTOR, #4th MAVERICK, #5th WICKED TWISTER, #6th MAGNUM XL 200.

Erikjc, no my first trip to CP was in 1999. The reason Magnum is my favorite at CP is because of the buckets of ejector air you get on it. If I was told that I could have any coaster I wanted in my backyard (with no length problems, etc) it would be Magnum. Even after 4 rides I still dont know where Im going to put Maverick, my list pre Maverick went like this:

1. Magnum
2. MF
3. Raptor
4. Gemini
5. Blue Streak
6. TTD (sorry I hate one trick wonders, although Ill admit this one is the best one trick Ive been on)
7. Mean Streak
8. Mantis
9. Mine Train
10. Disaster Transport
11. Iron Dragon
12. Corkscrew
13. Woodstock Express
14. Wildcat
*Wicked Twister-Never ridden on it and never will, my body length is too big for the OTSRs
*Jr. Gemini-Never ridden

Maverick will either be my new #2, 3 or 4. I want to ride it a few more times before I put it in there.

I don't know how some of you can make these list.

I can't rank any of the rides at CP. They are all fun.

Well for starters, I can definitely rank Mean Streak behind pretty much every ride because I don't have any fun on it... :)

I have been riding Magnum since it opened. It was pretty rough the first year. But still took my top spot and has been there until this year. Still favorite steel, though.

I really don't like to do a list. Because of new rides opening all the time. But, I started doing it for the Golden Ticket Awards.

Honestly... I don't get how people list magnum as #1... every time I ride it I like it less. It's not even in my top 5... actually

Well, if you would stop riding it, maybe you'd stop liking it less (plus, you'll make the line shorter for those of us with taste). ;)

^ - I'd have to agree, Magnum is locked into the 1/2 position. Heck, MF isn't even on my 10 any more. It got bumped with the addition of Thunderhead (#3) and Mystery Mine (#8).

I'm pretty sure Voyage will bump some too when I get around to visiting HolidayWorld.

Nope, in fact I hated the ride the first time, but it only got better and better. What Jugga said MF is a bore now.

I wouldn't call MF a bore, but I've got other rides that I think are above it either for sentimental reasons or because I think they are better rides.

Yeah, bore would be the wrong word. I would describe it as driving really fast in a car with your head out the window, sure it's fun but not worth waiting an hour for.
