Maverick

I suppose I risk getting flamed by the coaster fans (me included) if I still wonder if the WWL location (whether or not it be home to "Maverick") won't be the location of a modern flume or hybrid coaster/flume. I still hope Kinzel was hinting at that in Jeff's podcast at the Red Garter on closing day when he said something like, "We know the public loves flumes."

It seems to me there was speculation on this board that the building which housed the WWL loading platform hadn't been removed. I don't remember if someone here confirmed or dispelled that rumor (and if they didn't, we know Tony & Tyler couldn't), but that platform would certainly seem a match (as would the area) for a ride of some "maverick" type, wet or not. Hmm...a flyer that's also a flume...now that would be something to see. *** Edited 2/5/2006 2:01:06 AM UTC by Western Cruiser***

Thats it, a 457ft flume. ITS ON LIKE DONKEY KONG!!!! :)

I'm sure CP will get is flume back, but not in 2007

TTD4Life, I respectfully disagree with your comment about the floorless possibility.

Thank you. Most people in other forums would say "Your such an idiot, I can't believe you said that"

I can see where your getting, but to each his own.

I don't know if we can go on what's been done with roller coasters as much as we can go with what hasn't been done yet. We might see something that's never been done before, something that's never been tried. Kinzel is willing to take a risk like that and I really don't think he's afraid too. X was revolutionary, TTD was revolutionary. I see a ride of that caliber, hopefully with results better than what came of those two. *** Edited 2/5/2006 6:13:00 AM UTC by Fastball84***

X. :) Darn it, I want to go back out to CA again.

Soon, I hope.

Since the Swan Boats been removed for CP, for the past few yrs I have heard that was a spot a for load station for a coaster. How much it that true? Do we have any clues? But if it was, then CP has some room to maybe fit a 300+ flyer in or maybe a floorless. Maybe WWL load/unload station might be for something else?? All I am saying it that we have 2 spots and 2 coasters we like to see in the park. We know the name, now lets have time tick away and let the answers come to us!!

As for the load station going where the Swan Boats were...

Wouldn't it be AMAZING if they somehow put a glass floor onto the station? Build it right over the water.

Because the water is so much to look at.

I know it ain't much but its better than cement with gum stuck to it.

Arms down, head back, and hold on.....

i wish people would NOT just stick there gum to the walls it is soooo disgusting

Maverick sounds like ethier a thrill ride, flyer, or floorless. What does it sound like to you?

Bring back Boblo!

That's... that what the last 6 pages have been about. =P

If the ride is going to be from B&M, it will not be 300+ feet tall.

Maverick could fit anything, but I think it's pretty safe to assume that with the chunk of land they have now, and since TTD was the last coaster, and it's Kinzel's last year, that a coaster is in line for 2007. As far as a flume, what about modifying Thunder Canyon...where the rafts would be removed in favor of boats, and then a lift hill would be added at the end and splashdown in the lagoon opposite of Snake River Falls. It could be a whole river adventure.

I've been thinking. Since CP's 2 out of the last 3 coasters have been 25 million, wouldn't you rather see 3 8million dollar coasters 3 years in a row?

no, I want one big one.

no, I want one big one.

Alright peoples, listen up. I've only read about half of these posts but i've read enough

First people assume that Maverick is the name of the new coaster going into Cedar Point. Just because Cedar FAIR bought the name doesn't mean that cp is getting that name. They have about 16 parks (ok, maybe i'm a little over the top but it's to prove my point that they have OTHER parks)

Also, taller and faster than Top Thrill Dragster? Not yet, they need something different before that. That's all i'm gonna say on that.

AND .. .. top thrill dragster a mistake??? Shame on people for even thinking it. I mean, if it was so bad then why would someone else get a similar one at their park??? see my point? (even though i do think kingda ka was a mistake.. .. i mean have ya seen it?)

CS-2005
Does anyone know how to fix the hole in the bucket?

WWL's footprint and the Swan Boats' footprint, now we add in the Antique cars area and we got some serious space to work with...;)

Well, the massive amounts of downtime and unreliability that has come from Dragster has made many many guests angry and caused for some bad publicity. Anything that can make more bad publicity than good is generally a mistake.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

I think that the last thing CP needs is a 4D coaster, after ridding X at SFMM I have to say it was a horrible experience. If you think that Mean Steak is rough you haven't seen anything. My neck may never be the same.:(
