Maverick

There is already a loop (with Antique cars sitting on the "island") Problem is that there isn't anything on the "back path" to draw people through it. At least not yet.

Yeah, but that loop is small, hidden, and really doesn't resolve the issue of a dead end. If a big new attraction were put back there, I think that end of the park would suffer traffic-wise.

I remember the first year of WWL (I was there well after closing still waiting in line for it), but I don't remember if it caused much gridlock at all.

Besides, Who say's that other loop would survive a complete renewal of the Frontiertown area? Not that I am saying that will happen, but wouldn't it be nice?

I don't see how the Antique cars need to be removed. When Raptor was built, the Cadilac cars stayed! All they did was build around it. I think the same can be done with Maverick, if that in fact is the name. You also have the same scenario with Magnum and what I mean by that is you have the go cart race track pretty much underneath Magnum. So I think Antique cars could still stick around. As far as the layout going over by one of the loops of Millennium Force, I don't see it happening. In my opinion, the layout Cedar Point chooses for that area will be a compact structure layout kinda like how Mantis is set-up. Now I'm saying that if it is a B&M model.

The Turnpike Cars were shortened for the construction of Raptor. The midcourse and cobra roll are right next to the ride.

You have to remember though that the go-karts didn't exist before Magnum was built. They were installed a few years after, so obviously their location works pretty well.

Maverick's layout will be as compact as its generative forces dictate. If it's a mid-sized coaster we could see a compact layout, but if it's tall and fast as hell, there will be massive pull-outs like on MF and Dragster.

I don't think the Antique cars need to be removed at all. In fact, I would be dissappointed if they were. I think a lot of people would.

Ok, I have to get this lie off my chest.

I rode with this guy to get a 20x20 ft wrestling ring for my buddy in Monroe. This guy named Brent said he worked at CP last yr doing trash during park hrs. Anyways, he said he knew what the new Rollercoaster is for 07. I asked him and he said its a "DUELING FLIER", 335ft tall, 90 degree angle and the longest coaster on earth. Then I asked how would you know. He said that his "friend" has a photo on his cell phone. I honestly think he is full of sh*t. I just want to know if anyone knows this guy and what you think about his knowning about this coaster.

Yeah, it's just a bunch of bullspit. Like we say on here "People who say they know, dont know"......or something like that.:)

-Adam G- The OG Dragster nut

A guy who worked at CP picking up trash?? I TOTALLY KNOW THAT GUY!!

Or not.. but I don't think a single thing after "Dueling flier" is credible with the given circumstance. ;)

What is the photo of? A picture of his friend imagining the coaster? :)

-Tambo (Who is praying its not a boring a$$ flyer)

Well, from what he said it was the color layout with the design of the train next to it. But he never said what color it is.

How about the circumstances that its a guy who "worked at CP last (year) doing trash during park hrs." who has a friend who has a cell-phone picture of some "plans".

Also the statement - "Those who don't know, speak. Those who know, don't speak."

I don't think the guy knows what he is talking about.

oh ok, I see what "the circumstances" mean now, thanks

I just though about something...

How can Cedar Fair register a word taken out of the dictionary? Wouldn't that be considered public domain? I can understand Xcelerator, but Maverick?

I don't know about anyone else but I think Maverick is just a dumb name!

You know David it really isn't. Sure it sounds different but it fits FT perfectly. At least it's not like some coaster names in Japan..... ex: Thunder Dolphin

What I meant with the circumstace was, well, everything else that was said in the above post. Everything after "dueling flyer" was just incredibly improbable.

(just my own clarification, as I see it was answered above as well ;) ). *** Edited 3/4/2006 4:41:11 AM UTC by Grovite18***

wow, grandma's are crazy!
