The lack of ability to read the 'writing on the wall' as of late is blowing my mind.
"Roller coasters are in our DNA"
"You definitely won't want to miss next year's tour"
"Roller Coaster Capital of the World"
A random Dive Machine on a random HalloWeekends banner.
The hints are signifigantly more subtle than what Twitter would leave you to believe.
If you've ever wondered why the rest of the industry hates the CP Fanboys, just read everything that has happened over these past few months.
Pay attention to what is going on elsewhere.
If 2015 happens to not be a coaster, then there is a strong possibility we are looking at Skyline's first contract.
If Mantis is, in fact, being relocated; then we have the opportunity to be see one hell of a Dive Machine in its place.
…Just my .02 on the current state of affairs...
You can't really compare a new dark ride to Disaster Transport. Dark rides of today have theming, sometimes interactivity, a story... Disaster was a coaster in a building with some neon paint splattered around.
Speaking of Jungle Larry, the apex of that midway once was Jungle Larry and the transition to that Swampy area. The days of that combined with the aquarium, it was not about giant rides but just cool spaces... I think Jungle Larry's swamp a cool place to bring back.

What HalloWeekends banner? Sorry, not quite up-to-date on that.
As for DNA, think about it - DNA changes are mutations (which are blown out of proportion in popular culture), and a super-mutant creature would go good with a werewolf (Rougarou.)
I know on previous pages you guys mentioned that Mantis was going to Dorney Park. Even though this is speculation, let me ask you guys this. Where would they put it at Dorney Park? They would have to move/relocate quite a few rides to make that possible. To me, I just don't see a spot for Mantis. The same with people saying it was going to Michigan's Adventure. Again, where would they put it? They would have to go into the parking lot to make Mantis fit. This is why I agreed with Maverick00 on page 10, that I think we might see a transformation rather then a move.

My point is... CP in reality at one time was hands down, the Roller Coaster Capital of the World for both quantity and quality!
"Roller Coaster Capital of the World" is a Cedar Fair-owned trademark. It has nothing to do with quantity or quality. If Cedar Point had but one coaster, the park could still describe itself as the "Roller Coaster Capital of the World."

If you call yourself "Roller Coaster Capitol of the World" trademark or not, it better really be Roller Coaster Capitol of the World. They have some great coasters, but "of the world" - don't think so.
Why? If you own the trademark, you have the legal right to use it. It has nothing to do with quantity or quality.
Having said trademark seems completely irrelevant. It's not like you're legally bound to having the most coasters. It's just marketing.

I understand that it's just a trademark, but Cedar Point could easily be considered the true coaster capital. Like Jeff said, "coaster capital" doesn't necessarily mean "most coasters." I think people make that association so often because CP had the most coasters for such a long time when CP was emphasizing that slogan.
My interpretation of that slogan means that CP has the biggest, best, fastest, tallest, most innovative, and fun (...etc.) coasters. Whether you agree with my opinions or not, CP definitely emphasizes on more things than just the number of coasters they have.
Plus, it's not like CP doesn't have a lot...If it wasn't for SFMM throwing together 3/4 coasters in 1/2 year(s), they would be tied with Canada's Wonderland for (still) having the most in the world.
Shawn, this was a screamscape update from last year when there was speculation for expansion at Dorney... I'm not sure but I don't believe anything has happened with it because of zoning being tough in their town. Not sure but maybe this gives you some insight?https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.356189367844397.107374186...166&type=1
Of all the things we do and do not know...and all the things that we will never know, I'm most interested in what exactly changed about the five-year plan.
Tony, you had stated before how incredibly excited you were about the 5-year plan as it was.
Now that it's changed, are you equally excited? Well of course you'll say yes. :)
Oh to be a fly on the wall...
Promoter of fog.
Yea Cedar Point IMO made their mark in history and has every right regardless of what's trademarked, to claim that title! Cedar Point is the reason for this great industry IMO, but the only reason I questioned it is.... It was just something I wouldn't have used it in the same paragraph that began with the announcement of Mantis getting cut from the line-up? Could of closed it off with anything else than The Roller Coaster Capital of the World? Also said... In this case it's wasn't hard to say goodbye? Haha this is what makes this fun! It's all good keep it coming!

I was thinking the same thing when I saw that. I hope things changed for the better. Whenever I hear someone say "it's all good", I assume that something was patched up or changed--or maybe something was pushed to a later date or dropped all thither.
https://www.cedarpoint.com/blog-article/online-fun/Housekeeping?mobile=0] This was just posted. Leaves me to think they will have a series of announcements this Fall.

Not saying it's going to Michigan's Adventure, but there is plenty of room at MiA. They own the land all the way over to the road. They could literally double the size of the present park before even coming close to running out of room.
^I agree. There definitely is a lot more to come and Mantis leaving being a "big announcement" means a change is coming to the ride OR that area of the park for 2015 (in addition to the departure of the coaster or just the standing orientation of it).
That blog post makes me believe even more that Mantis land will be used for a 2016 coaster instead of 2015.

The disaster transport before its closure was nothing like it was when it was first turned into a dark ride.
it had theming. It had interactivity. It had a story. And then, it was just kinda stripped down as things broke or they didn't want to put money into them.
So, disaster transport used to be a dark ride, in the terms of what you consider a dark ride to be....
Then the theming, story, and interactivity gradually disappeared until it was just some neon paint splattered around..
Cedar point does make amazing coasters, however, maintaining themeing, at least in the Kinzel era, was not a priority.

How so? I honestly don't get anything out of the post that we didn't already know. To me the BIGGEST piece of evidence the ride is staying/getting revamped is that the park won't explicitly say "we are removing this ride and clearing the land for a future attraction."
They have said that about all recent removals- Disaster Transport, White Water Landing, Paddlewheel, etc.
When asked by media journalists, the park dodges the question, or won't answer it. Why?
