It's very simple, just find out what brand secret decoder ring Tony uses and get one to crack the code! :)
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I just don't get it. Exact same ride, ridden while seated, is an improvement?
I think anyone with testicles or breasticles could answer this question with a resounding "yes."

^right nextgen89. (Love your sig. btw, I swear I heard that from somewhere, maybe Hot Rod) harmonyTo Kyle: another giga or strata couldn't be unique? That would mean every hyper was the same as every other, and so with every <101 footer (whatever coaster that's called).
So basically macerick would be just the same thing as Gemini, like what was the point of maverick it's almost the same footage of Gemini. Don't get me wrong, they're both unique...
I would like to hear your guys' feedback on my cp to do list theory. Just about the whole CPRBGCB thing. Like, seriously? What are the chances guys and gals, that the first two letters are CP?!?!? Like 1 in 26 squared or something like that? And CPRB (record breaking), 26 quadded (fourth power).
Plus it's at least a bit peculiar he spelt Monday "MonDay"
And almost every word is capitalized. Thanks cp and y'all
CP has a:
Hyper coaster
Arrow looper
Giga coaster
Strata coaster
Wing rider
Inverted coaster
Stand-up (while it lasts lol)
Big wooden
Family wooden
Suspended
Launching invert twister or whatever you call it
A kiddy coaster
A super small kiddy coaster
A coaster thats first drop is belong 90 degrees
A racing coaster
And a family hybrid coaster
Now all of those are different. I would much rather see a 4D, flying, or drop coaster before i see another giga or any other repeats

Agree 100%.
I'd gladly welcome a B&M airtime coaster of any height over the 4D or flying variety, the latter of which is just as gimmicky as a standup.

I just would love to see a coaster that intertwines with another coaster, or even go over a midway like Corkscrew does. . or like the GK
An not like the Millennium does (Does not have that effect since its really a bridge you go under).
but thats more aesthetic then anything else.
The impression I've gotten is that several people here don't like Mantis as a ride; it's how riding a disliked ride, seated, changes the ride experience that I don't get. I can eat my Big Mac at McDonald's, right out of the box, or I can take it home, put it on a plate and eat it with a knife and fork, but it's still a Big Mac.
Or are people saying the issue with Mantis has been the riding position?
Noggin- it's very simple. Take a drive down the highway in an old beat up vehicle with a bicycle seat between your legs. Take that same ride down the same highway in a brand new convertible. Entirely different experience- same highway!
How do people not see the correlation?
Mantis' layout is great, it's the standing up that sucks.
My confusion came from so many people seeming to not like the ride as a ride rather than not liking the ride because of the "seating".
I personally like mantis. To me mantis is an okay ride but when i ride it front row it turns into a good ride. Experience is so much different front row. The pain is 90% lower. So when i ride mantis i always go front row and enjoy it so much more than any other seat. Just my opinion
For me...it's the riding position. I like the course, especially the beginning but as the ride progresses it quickly feels very uncomfortable to be standing. The obscenely large restraints don't help either.
I think the ridership numbers have shown that it's not a rollercoaster that everyone downright refuses to ride (if it were then I'd be more inclined to say that it is getting scrapped) but it clearly is not a very pleasant experience for many people. CP has to be aware of the complaints. With it being a fairly large investment, and a relatively young ride compared to others in the park, they likely looked at ways to address the problematic portion of the ride. Seated trains might go a long way toward creating a ride experience that is more enjoyable for the masses.
Then again maybe they're just going to address the complaints by ripping it out. Seems like a waste though.
I like Mantis standing up, and I'm able to adjust the restraint so that the bicycle seat doesn't touch at all so it seems like I'm one of the few (it seems) who can ride pain free. To me sit down trains on the ride would be a let down. Same ride with a less fun riding position as I think the layout and all the positive g's really work well as a stand up. Looking forward to future announcements.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Convert trains and change second half of the track. First half is fun for me. The second half could be several air time hills.
I don't know if this has been brought up already, but I thought it was interesting how in the video it said "Goodbye is never easy. In this case it is."
Thoughts?
To me I see a few things that could be considered a clue and are being overlooked!
1. The live cams, which haven't move since the announcement! I know it was Mantis' day, could leaving the cam centered on it be a diversion? Could there be something going on that they wanna keep from the general public, considering it started on their first day off normal operation?
2. Tony referring to Mi?..... Could Mantis' removal be a clearing for Millenium Island expansion? Look at an aerial view and you'll see that looks pretty darn perfect IMO!
3. The swamp pics that Jason McClure tweeted out referring to 2015 right behind the CCMR?
4. All the Aquatrax stuff, that even Tony has humored? Could that be in any way hinting a SPLASHDOWN?
5 Tony's tweet asking us if we wanna ride MagnumForce? Sounds like he's telling us to get our calculators out and do some addition.... 205+310=???
6. Say Mantis is converted to a sit-down/floorless? Do you really think the answer to Mantis keeping it and then realizing that they have the 20th best looping B&M coaster in the country? IMO that's something you'd see at a lower market Six Flags park, not any CF park and especially not Cedar Point! That move is not getting anybody into the new and raised rate Breakers' rooms!
7. What about the idea of Dinosaurs Alive being moved/relocated after this season? CP to me seems to be cashing out on the concept, offering it in the dark and free for passholders? This goes with the Mi expansion idea.
8 Tony's TODO list? Go over 500'ft? Is this even a legit rumor that's been floating around, why does Tony humor something if it's extremely unlikely and would only cause disappointment and could possibly turn the whole CP2015 against itself?
9. At the end of the official press release..... A press release which announced the loss of a B&M coaster, then ending the press release with The Roller Coaster Capital of the World?? CP would never lose a coaster of Mantis' magnitude if it wasn't to be replaced with some form of coaster! And on a year they're investing $50 million into Hotel Breakers and rival Six Flags has been active in their coaster additions, giving them the new wave of thrills that CP cannot offer at this time?
10. If a dark-ride truly was an option... What will they theme it off of? Snoopy?? Don't think so, it'll be a made up theme and could be a disaster? Disney, Universal and Six Flags for example have the perfect line-up for a dark-ride and IMO is the best part of a dark ride?
Just my thoughts... Please don't shoot the messenger! hahaha
^You do realize that Magnum Force is the name of a roller coaster, right? Plus, I can't picture CP doing something that will be topped by a good 50+ feet a year later and has already been announced. Unless, of course, it breaks another record at the same time that won't be beaten by the Orlando Polercoaster.
