youtube has a few videos of the ride. It has one inversion and as you can see the layout looks nothing like that of project2007. Definently looks fun though.
OK, look at this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0xur0WUB08&search=port%20aventura%202007
Stop at 1:35. See that support? Look familiar?
Stop again at 1:48. Notice the supports' spacing at the turn in the water. Look familiar? Even the color scheme is exactly the same. Coincidences?
I guess since were days away from an announcement, ill throw in the towel as far as guessing and say that this is what we're getting...only faster, longer, and more inversions.
Promoter of fog.
Um....someone made that video using NoLimits coaster simulator game with modified trains. I wouldnt say it is a completly acurate rendition of what they are building.

So, because Intamin has manufactured similar supports (heck their close to identical) that means we are getting THAT monstrosity only bigger? So if thats the theory, why wouldn't the supports be bigger? There is no proof as to layout, train style, height or inversion count that can be inferred from the shape of supports.

I am not in any way suggesting there is any proof...and I realize as well that it could be any number of things. This is just my guess, and thats all. I could not agree with your post more.
It's also, considering the possibilities, what I would vote for.

THE CEDAR POINT 07 COASTER IS NOT THE SAME AS THE PORTADVENTRURA PARK COASTER.
1) You cannot make your own "custom" train styles in NoLimits. The creator Ole Lange made those trainstyles for that track.
2) That is not a "fan" recreation.
3) The supports in that video are PREFAB. You just click and they are on the track. No custom supports whatsoever. Just things that come with the progam as DEFAULTS.
...Havent we ruled out a wing rider for like...forever now?
A windwalker has not been ruled out, and I still think it is the most likely option next to an Aquatrax. Some have thought that the angles of the flanges on the erected supports make it impossible to fit those trains in, but the angle of the flanges doesn't really give a great indication of the banking of the track.
I haven't seen any other argument against a windwalker, but I will throw in what may be a new one: the one at PA apparently will have a hydraulic launch. Everything we've seen all but confirms the use of LIMs or LSMs, and even though it would be possible to combine a hydraulic launch with a LIM/LSM launch/lift hill, I find it highly unlikely that CP will go anywhere near a hydraulic launch in the future.
Still, this ride appears to have very few sections that are very high off the ground, and I would not be surprised if there are less than three hills that surpass 50'. This leads me to believe that there must be something else unique about this ride, and either an Aquatrax or Windwalker fit that bill. So, in a nutshell, no I don't think a windwalker should be ruled out. *** Edited 8/1/2006 7:11:04 PM UTC by lettuce***
Out on the streets, that's where we'll meet
You make the night, I always cross the line
Tightened our belts, abuse ourselves
Get in our way, we'll put you on your shelf
Another day, some other way
We're gonna go, but then we'll see you again
I've had enough, we've had enough
Cold in vain, she said
(Pre-chorus)
I knew right from the beginning
That you would end up winnin'
I knew right from the start
You'd put an arrow through my heart
(Chorus)
Round and round
With love we'll find a way just give it time
Round and round
What comes around goes around
I'll tell you why
Dig
Lookin' at you, lookin' at me
The way you move, you know it's easy to see
The neon light's on me tonight
I've got a way, we're gonna prove it tonight
Like Romeo to Juliet
Time and time, I'm gonna make you mine
I've had enough, we've had enough
It's all the same, she said
(Pre-chorus)
(Chorus)
Yeah!
Solo
Out on the streets, that's where we'll meet
You make the night, I always cross the line
Tightened our belts, abuse ourselves
Get in our way, we'll put you on your shelf
(Chorus)
Round and round
With love we'll find a way just give it time, time, time, time
Round and round
What comes around goes around
I'll tell you why, why, why, why
Round and round
I do. That ride looks very boring. Two turns and an inline roll. And almost no hills to speak of. So basicly a fast Jr. Gemini with an inversion. And to top it off, you sit about 10 feet away from the center of rotation, which would lead to some serious headbanging.....which leads us back to the Ratt song ;)

I guess I can thrown in a couple cents.
First of all, these opinions are just that- opinions. just like yours, mine's no better. So play nice, people. I mostly read these posts because, like you, I'm curious. It's no fun when people are attacked.
Second, I think CP is probably not going to introduce a new concept as we all know the problems faced w/ TTD. Plus, with all the problems it faces w/ SOB at PKI, as well as the actual PURCHASE of the Paramount parks, CF is not interested in adding new problems to their plate.
Finally, here's what I think: it's gonna be a 12 inversion coaster, similar to Colossus @ Thorpe Park. This breaks a record, fits the footprint, costs much less than a MF or a TTD, and will work.
Of course, like I said, it's an opinion. Plus I can't seem to get the outrageous idea out of my mind of some concept flying coaster...that breaks the inversion record as well!! haha
There are two things I can be confident of in my mind viewing the construction. It will not be a Wing Walker and it will not have inversions.
I'm firmly in the AquaTrax camp.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
The inversion record is now 14. Second of all, this ride was planned well in advance of the Paramount purchase.
I however do think this will be similar to Colossus at Thorpe but with a launch at some point in the ride.

I still say it will invert, but only a couple of times.
I also say LIM lift hill and mid-ride launch.
JK I thought the inversion record was 10...my mistake...which ride has 14? So let me change my post to say...it will have 15 inversions! haha!
Second, I can't say I agree with you regarding the Paramount purchase. As with constructing a coaster, "constructing" a $1 billion acquistion can take months or years when you include all the financial analysis, due diligence, etc. that goes into the process...but whatever...let's RIDE! :)
e x i t - i like the mid-ride launch idea...who knows ?
ps - i'm a hardcore coaster fan, but i'm thinkin 14 or more inversions would make me HURL
Viacom (I think that's who owned them) only made it known maybe a year ago that it was selling the parks. Cedar Fair made the announcement back just before the season that it was going to purchase the parks, and the purchase went through in late June. Nothing years about it.
Goodbye MrScott
John
Well, you may not agree Capture, but that facts are that Viacom didn't split with CBS til late last year and even then CBS didn't announce that the parks were for sale until spring this year.
What we do know based on past rides, is that the coasters Cedar Point has built have baiscly all gone through a 3 year process from conception to completion.
So unless you are going to say that CBS knew that Viacom was going to split with them and that they were going to sell the paramount parks 2-1/2 years ago, then I'd have to strongly disagree with you.

Eejanaika at Fuji-Q Highland in Japan. It is a 4D coaster. The track itself only has 2 inversions but the seats rotate you upside-down 14 times.

Also there was a bidding process for the paramount parks. There is no way Cedar Fair could have known for sure that they would have came out on top.
