At this point, I'm more inclined to say what it is NOT going to be rather than trying to invent what it will be. We just don't have enough PROOF as to what it will be. But, we do have lots of proof as to what it won't be. Its not an invert, and its not a wing/windwalker. Besides those, it could be anything.
I think its weird too that people are saying the whole thing is going to be close to the ground. We have no idea if all the supports are here. We have no idea if all the track is here. We also have no idea if all the footings are dug/poured. So, for all we know, there could still be some big lift somewhere.
How can it not count? Its not like the cars rotate freely, they are physically rotated by the extra set of rails. If the cars radomly flip flopped around, i could see that not counting. Plus it has been certified by Guinness. DONT MESS WITH GUINNESS!

The Aquatrax is not that new of a design... The first one was built three years ago and the concept is 4 or 5 years old. The WingWalker is a brand new design, not only that, but it uses a hydraulic launch... you really think there going to go with that again?
I really think this will be a Aquatrax.
One other thing, some people need to broden there horizon's when it comes the "Aqua" part of the Trax.
It's really funny when people complain about it being red and how it doesnt go with water and whatever... guess what, they're still 10 months from finishing this, who's to say it can't be themed to something else?

I don't.
Though, I wouldn't mind having one. This one just isn't going to be it.
When the tempratures are this hot (99 degrees right now here in Michigan for Tuesday (8/1/06) does Cedar Point tell workers to take the day off or do you think the workers still work?

I agree it is definitely not an inverted coaster, but disagree that we can rule out a windwalker. The supports that have been erected are more than high enough off the ground to provide clearance for wide trains, depending on how banked the track will be.
As for the whole thing being close to the ground, you really need to see the site for yourself to appreciate it. I'm not sure if you have, but when I saw it on Sunday, it was obvious to me that there really aren't many places that large hills would even fit and still make sense given the layout we're beginning to see. I don't believe the ride will continue beyond its current borders: it will not go beyond the swan lake or its borders along TC and the train, nor will it go out into the midway. The only possibility would be beyond UR Dade or the WWL station, but I find both highly unlikely since both are still standing, UR Dade is scheduled to be open through closing weekend, and the footers/supports indicate that the ride will be curving away from these areas. If there is going to be a big lift, I'd bet it's going to peak just behind UR Dade. I'm sure that's where the tallest point of the ride is going to be. *** Edited 8/1/2006 8:54:44 PM UTC by lettuce***
Well it seems to me that this support supports an inversion on one side.. or at least an extremely overbanked turn. ;)

Yay for my first post. Ive been keeping up with this new ride here on pointbuzz since june, however.

which side of the support cuz it looks it will connect 2 another support and be a large "a" shape support.

That wont be an inversion, just where another support will conect to it from the ground.

So as far as I can tell Colossus still holds the record at 10. If you can show me a LEGIBLE Guinness certificate then I'll be more inclined to believe what you say. As for now, Colossus still holds it, and as was said before they would have given it to "X" years ago when it was built if it was going to count.
If you look at the ILLEGIBLE certificate they have on their site from "Guinness" there isn't even a signature at the bottom like the LEGIBLE copy has belonging to Colossus.

Maverick perhaps? I wanna RIDE ON.
You know I'm a little obsessed when I have dreams about this ride.
I had a dream last night that it was a launched coaster that launched into a huge dive loop, and was half inverted and half regular track. The cars were specially designed to fold into themselves and sort of transform into inverted cars. They also "drifted" around the corners, like when it took a turn the cars turned 90 degrees and you faced the center of the circle you were navigating. I thought that was cool. I wouldn't be surprised if that was possible. Most of this is totally unfeasable though.
I'm going to throw that drifting idea out there though.

Hm, you and Cleveland are probably right. I like to think it could help support some type of inversion though. just hope the ride is a lot of fun
It may not be an inverted coaster, but it will have inversions.

Loopy, watch the onride video, I think there is one on that site I posted, I am sure there is probably one on youtube as well. And tell me that it does not flip you upside down 14 times. ;)

The WingWalker is a brand new design
Actually, it dates back to about 2000, it just hasnt been implemented yet. Technically, its not "brand new"...its been in the works for quite some time. CP seems to have a thing for pushing the envelope anyway.
I really dont see how or when...or why...the wingwalker ever got "proven" wrong, and once again, I certainly was not saying "I guarantee" this is what it is, which would be assinine on my part, nor was I suggesting there is any shred of evidence that would "prove" it.
To me, it fits every clue, and CP's style, not to mention the construction site thus far.
2+2 ? the seating
whole new direction ? This thing could do some serious inversions, or go backwards
Sidewinding? Goes without saying
I dont see why it is any less valid than any other guess, and that is all it was on my part, so please, take it for what it was.
My vote; wingwalker...or whatever this thing is called.
Launched or lift hill.... what do you guys think?
launch...although I love the idea of a mid-course launch
