The people that put sites like this together are doing every one of us a favor and do not owe us anything. Jeff is in charge of this site and he can say and do whatever he wants. Many times I find myself laughing at some of the threads and scroll through hoping to see a comment from Jeff. His comments are often very entertaining. If I had to deal with some of the things posted here and at CB, I'd be a little irate as well. One thing that sets this site and Coaster Buzz apart from others, it's the fact that there are some truly intelligent people here and much can be learned. I'm not taking a shot at Thrill Network, but when I see responses to questions like "I don't no, maybee sumone else does", I cringe. Here, good grammar and well-written posts are the norm and that is to be commended.
I think anyone that knows me (which isn't a lot of people here, but I have met several URC'ers) knows that I'm an easy-going guy that enjoys this hobby like everyone else here does. That's the way I'd like to keep things. So to Squishy, maybe don't take things so seriously. Having fun is what this is supposed to be about.

Lowtax (the creator) is a god among men lol, at one point we (forum goons at SA) had him winning the EW online write in poll for Entertainer of the Year until they took it down. Rich "Lowtax" Kyanka. Now we're just voting for Rich Kyanka, go to ew.com and vote for him!!
Now that I've completely brought it off topic...I dunno when I'll go to CP again next summer, but I think my first ride will be the indomitable Cedar Creek Mine Ride.

But was it all real fun?"
Seriously, tho...The Mine Ride has one of my favorite coaster finales. It's waiting through the rest of it that kills me.
I'm guessing my first '02 ride will be Draggin' Iron, as CoastaMidget should be tall enough to ride...

Squishy Pants, I was once like you, but you got to realize this is a free service. No matter what you think, Jeff doesn't owe you anything, including just being considerate towards you.

First, to Coasting Along and Squishy (if he is still here), the thing is, you are at someone elses site for free. Its like being in someones house, you do what the person who owns the house tells you or you can leave. There are a lot of places where you can talk about anything you want but its not here. I could sympathise more if you were paying to be here but your not. If you don't like the rules leave. You haven't paid to post here for a year, you are not in a legal contract to be here so leave.
I would agree on people however. I was on this site before CPlace was started. Now back in the day people were a lot nicer. Its like...I don't think people are mean its just the sarcastic remarks people give that makes other people upset. Sometimes people can be just rude. Thats the only I have seen that has changed

You are the Weakest Link, Goodbye.
The Webmaster of another coaster site, who I greatly respect, actually used to get crap from people for not participating enough in his site. Hell, that was me most of last summer. But now the off-season is here and I'm going to make sure things stay sane and reality doesn't get too far away, just like I have every winter.
The fact is, I don't want to read the aforementioned crap either. So if it smells and looks like crap, that's what I call it. More often than not, it just gets deleted. People don't want to read that when they can do it at a dozen other sites. We're entering the fifth season for GTTP here, and regarding the quality of the community, I think Kid Rock put it best... "It ain't braggin' #^#!$^ &*$% if you back it up." If some ungrateful little snot is going to call me out in my own house and tell me with a decade less under his belt to grow up, how do you suppose I'm going to react?
I put this stuff out here and ask nothing in return other than asking you to play by the rules. Some people can fit into the scene, others can't. It's all good.
I owe much of my social life to this site. It has resulted in hours of drunken stupidity at various BW-3's, construction tours, weddings, media events, parties, pinball, Deee-Lite sing alongs and more. The site and Cedar Point are the inspiration, but it's the people... that's what it's all about.
If you want to be a part of that, it's Kool & The Gang. If not, have a nice day and move on.

"You gots to show respect....to get respect."
If Squishy puts down Jeff, the site and its posters, he can't expect much respect in return.
Even a high school dropout comedian could figure that out...

It's Jeff's site, his rules. Frankly, I really like the rules. I can't stand taking time to read countless posts that have questions already asked, rumors after rumors and people just wanting to get attention from a post they made. It's not all about bandwidth. It's about visiting a well monitored site that I know I'm not going to waste time clicking through a bunch of garbage. Because when you have that, the decent people start to leave. Then no GTTP.
In fact I can't believe I contributed to this garbage thread.
Please e-mail Jeff direct if you got your feelings hurt. Most of US don't care.

As far as Jeff goes... A guy who loves CP enough to start a great site like this can't be all bad. I appreciate him for giving me the chance to express my opinions on CP. On the other hand, I don't come to this site because of my love for Jeff, ( I don't know Jeff ) or for anyone who posts here...I come for the love of CP..

B/M Flyer For 2004....
On the flip side of things...It takes all of us to make this site run well. Some people have habits of telling others their opinion is wrong, or what they feel is wrong. That is one of my pet peeves. A person can not tell another person what they should feel or that their opinion is wrong. This is why I have such a habit of posting often to defend my opinions. Seems like if you defend yourself by posting to much, your accused of starting a flame war. Yet, some "others" can out right attack someone personally, and that sometimes goes unnoticed. I have learned from high school and college...there will always be clicks and you will not always fit into them, so I dealt with it then, and Ill deal with it on here and bite my tounge, so to speak.
What some people dont understand is, When someone types something... people can take it many different ways and totally get a different meaning out if it. Its hard to "hone" in on ones personality, or what they really mean to say, or they tone they are saying it from reading a post. Its not like having a face to face conversation and read a persons face, expressions etc. I myself have thought someone was attacking me persay, (on this site) and got someone elses view on it..to only realize they were joking with me and not attacking me. So maybe as a whole.. the best way for us to get along with one another is not personally attack someone, or laugh at someone, or tell them their feelings or opinions are wrong.
I like ya and all Squishy and dont want you to leave, but you cant personally attack Jeff and not expect Jeff to back lash. Thats only human nature. I think we all need to watch what we type and try to put the meaning the best way possible so that everyone will get the same message from ones post. I know sometimes its hard to do and all, but thats the best way to save feelings. Let others express their opinion and not make them feel compelled to constantly defend their opinion because of back lash or because its not the majority opinion, or because others say its wrong. The quote feature has ended up becoming a vicious tool to start wars with IMO.
I understand this is a site on loving CP, but that shouldnt mean that no one can ever say anything negative about CP either. Just cause one doesnt side with the majority about something CP is doing, doesnt mean that one is trying to start some flame war, or is putting CP down. You cant tell me that everyone is 100% happy with EVERYTHING CP has ever done. At least not honestly.
Some people need to realize, that not everyone here knows the mechanics of a coaster..or who built what coaster etc, some are just simlply coaster riding fans, or CP lovers. For those who do know the "mechanics" tend to "put down" those who dont or find some way of letting them know what they posted was "stupid". I find that kind of ironic, that everyone talks about the "GP" (general public) and what they want, but some have to realize the "GP" dont know the business end or the mechanic side of a park. Hence this is why this is a FAN based site not a research and development site. Therefore whos opinion are we really trying to get then? Thank you for letting me babble!
