GTTP used to be a great place. People used to be friendly. Then came "I shell out a grand a month for bandwidth" and everything went down hill. Jeff, I would hope to God that you realize how you have changed since GTTP started. You used to say that you and your site were here because of your love of the Point. Now all it seems you and your comrades talk about is the money issue.
I would hope you don't share the same ideals with your volleyball girls as you do with us. I hope you don't constantly remind them how much money you spend on bandwidth each month.
So with that, I finally bid a bitter farewell, along with encouraging others to do the same, to Guide to the Point.

Jeff- You used to be a nice guy. Then something happened. I miss the friendly Jeff. If he were still around, I would be too.

And don't even bring my kids into it. You don't know a damn thing about me or what I have to deal with in real life.
The fact is, I doubt anyone here wants you around if you're going to call them dumb and dumber. It shows real class when you have to air out your frustrations in public looking for someone to jump on board and support you.
See ya. Can't say we'll miss you.

I think for the most part people here ARE friendly. There's been a recent influx of people both here and on CoasterBuzz, some of whom have increased the noise levels, but that's what happens with the offseason.
And the "money issue" really hasn't been talked about here all that much. It's been discussed some, both here and on the Buzz (especially on the Buzz, in light of the club), but it certainly hasn't been a major sticking point, nor does it signify a major turning point, at least IMHO.
You're welcome to your opinion, of course, but I'm afraid I really don't see the "problems" you do, and claim that "other members" do as well.

But was it all real fun?"
I also think it's pretty bad when you bring his personal life into this - if you and others don't like how someone's behaving online, then tell them. This kind of thing should have been taken care of via email (a simple "I think you're out of line" would probably have been a lot more effective than a personal attack in public).
Jeff, I've disagreed with things you've said/done before, but never strongly enough to criticize and attack your character in public. All in all, the sites you run are sites I read every day, and provide some great content I just can't get anywhere else and would sorely miss. Thanks for all your hard work.
If you don't have something nice to say....
I found this site back in the early days when it was still UBB.
How has this site changed, just start with the forums themselves, which Jeff has redesigned and built POP FORUM for us to enjoy. (If there is a better forum software out there on the net I would like to see it)
Anyhow, each year we have seen an influx of new members during the off season, one thing we (those who have been around for awhile) have to remember is to be patient with the newbies. The new members weren't here when we had discussions on any number of topics (ie. CP has a space problem). But, that is also why we have moderators.
As for the money issue, it seems people forget that yes this is a labor of love for Jeff but it does cost money. At some point in time we all have "stopped doing something" we enjoy because of the costs involved. I know Jeff has NO PLANS to alter GTTP but please respect the fact we are guests to HIS site.
Now something CP related....First ride in 2002...MF or Wicked Twister or something else?

Then Jeff closed a thread I really liked. At that time, that was the last straw.
But no one heard me whining and moaning like a baby about it. I didn't litter the forum with posts. I just closed my account and left.
I don't see why anyone else would ruin our good time bellyaching like SquishyPants. Frankly, the last thing you want to do is leave and leave and leave again. People resent that...and don't welcome you back should you change your mind.
I may agree, disagree and strongly beg to differ with anyone here on this forum...but I still consider them my friends. I'd like to keep it that way.

PS - BTW, I still lurk and ocasionally post on CBuzz now. I still pull up The Magnum Love Thread every once in a while on CBuzz, too....but I guess that's just me. There's a couple of good tales if you get past the arguing...

"Don't let the door hit you in the ass!" is sensible, it's a response to someone that's usually ungrateful, and that was my interpretation of SquishyPants' post.
But that might just be me...
