Interesting - Possible promotional video

I doubt we would see something of that scale at CP. Don't get me wrong - I love the idea of a heavily themed attraction at the Point, I just don't want to get my hopes up for something like that. A nice cave for the launch, rock work and trees, that all seems possible. Maybe a nice lighting effect for the launch? Maybe. A few out buildings and tunnels? Not outside the realm of possibility. Something like Atlantis Adventure? I think that CP is still a few years away from that kind of theming.

Dead Men Tell No Tales

This is quite possibly the first time a first-time-poster has actually provided pertinent information that contributes to intelligent discussion that we didn't already know about. Props to Hero Pup.

Don't be surprised if they happen to bring some actors from Knotts out to Cedar Point for some kind of live action or queue entertainment.

ok.. forgive me, its 4:33 am but I woke up, and was reading PointBuzz, and was thiking about this.

Cedar Point alreay has Cedar Creak Mine Ride and they are doing something around there, do you think they are spucing up CCMR and making the video for it?

just seems that making a prospector, with a mine and such--- just dont fit the brite red track of Projcect 07 to me. Expecially when they alreay have a Mine "theamed" coaster not far from where the new one is going. They are doing stuff around CCMR, is it possible they are redoing it?

Well, maybe not, i was just reading what Hero Pup wrote, and i'm not seeing it real possible, but just seems weird.

I don't think P2007 will necessarily be your typical mine train coaster.

While it may be set in the old west, possibly even around an abandoned mine, it should still be an entirely different ride. Both should be able to live together peacefully.

I don't think CCMR is going anywhere.

I don't think that CP will be pulling out any of their coasters any time soon either. There needs to be some variety - my first coaster was the CCMR, and as a 6 year old I don't think MF or TTD would have fit the bill. CCMR is a great starter and still a great addition to the park.

I will be singing CP's praises if the install a well-themed ride in the park's only period-themed area.

Dead Men Tell No Tales

No, i'm not thinkin they would pull it out, my first thought was add theaming, rocks, tunnels, maybe change trains and such. But, now that its 8:38, i'm not thinking that is the case.

I think sometimes we are all so focused on how CF does things, we forget that there are opportunities for improvement and advancement within the company. Any great company with great leadership sees opportunities and takes advantage of them.

When CF bought Paramount Parks, they likely inherited some people who are very experienced and talented at designing and maintaining theming. They likely will need to keep those people employed to keep the Paramount Parks at a level the customer base is expecting, while trying to attract new customers.

Now understanding P2007 was probably scoped out well before the acquisition was, it may be too late in the process to add a lot of theming for p2007.

But in the future, what better way to make use of acquired talent than to help augment your flagship park with something it is severely lacking (theming).

If I was an executive with CF (which I obviously am not) I would be very excited at the fact CF acquired an experienced theming staff, and I would be putting them to good use in the parks that are missing the things they offer.

Platinum has it's perks. So does living exactly 97.5 miles from King's Island and Cedar Point

RTurb0 - I agree completely! If CF wants to maintain its reputation they need to grow and improve in the area where they are currently lacking, which right now is in theming design and upkeep. I think the Paramount buyout made this a necessary change. With WWK and some of the other changes at GL I know that they are capable of designing well-themed environments, let's just hope they keep it up.

Dead Men Tell No Tales

Well since Maverick has been officially announced, the scripts I have for the promo videos did have some information about the ride, although most of it was just fun stuff. Clues about the colors of the trains, gold, silver, copper were noted, although nothing about gunmetal and iron. Also a hint about a tunnel was in the scripts. I know there is a lot of skepticism about people saying they have inside information, but what I was able to obtain was actually legit. If anyone would like a copy of the scripts, PM me with your e-mail and I'll be happy to send you a copy of what I have. I figure there is no harm since Maverick has already been announced.

Very cool video, there will be a nice story line for Maverick.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

That video is sweet---
