Supposidly, they're also looking for several people for the animatronics department, not to mention an electrical supervisor, and an electronics control technician.

If Cedar Point weren't misspelled, I might have given this a tiny bit of credit as possibly being somewhat credible.
But since when has the media cared about accuracy?
Who cares. This wasn't put out by the media.
This was released by a studio (or whoever is looking for actors) to advertise the roles to agents and actors.

Exactly, imagine it as an ad in the classifieds.
How many of those have all the spelling correct?

Well, who really knows? But that's a pretty considerable amount of spelling errors, in my opinion.
Regardless, I've long since conceded that it could very well be true.

Uh, lots of words in that are mispelled... something tells me a pathetic teen with too much time made all that up.
I would believe that, but first of all, they have spell checker, there is no excuse for such poor spelling. And second, I looked it up at a bunch of LA casting listings, coming up with nothing. I know it was a shot in the dark, but these websites had nothing and google turned up nothing either. All this leads me to believe this is a either a prank or somebody had way too much free time.
There are spell checkers available for IE and Firefox, but you see far fewer people than would be nice using them on this forum. So why would they have used one?
I am skeptical of it, but I don't see the spelling as a reason why it may be fake. Its more the fact that its a new poster. No offense to Hero Pup, but when a new poster comes up with something this wild, it needs to be taken with a healthy dose of skepticism.

They used a similar type of actor as the first for Silver Bullet at Knott's. He was a gun slinger type of guy.
...Just my 2 buzzbars...
JuggaLotus, since he copy and pasted it from a website, that means someone else wrote it. Wouldn't that mean that Cedar Point's marketing director(s) be responsible for this. T&T are pretty good and I doubt they would spell CP as "Ceder" Point. So while the new poster thing is a good reason to take it with skepticism, the spelling is what makes me doubt this the most.
Who said he copied it from the cedar point website? Cedar Point probably went to an ad agency (or more than likely the one they have a contract with already) and gave them an idea for a commercial/promo. The ad agency would then put out a casting call and handle all the development.
And what's to say he didn't get a paper copy that he typed in by hand (thus causing the typo's). Mr. Pup may just be a bad typist, which is why he is trying to be an actor rather than working as a stenographer.

I thought Raptor had a kid on a bike trying to pedal away really fast as the Raptor swooped down. Maybe I am getting my Birds of Prey mixed up.
You're right if you're speaking about the Raptor television commercial and not the Raptor promo. I was an extra in the commercial when they actually taped it in the park. They do use LA actors for their commercials quite often. That scene where the boy is riding his bike, runs and gets picked up from the "raptor" was taped in a studio in LA and ran on TV in the early months of 1994. When Raptor was completed they flew the actor to CP to tape on-ride stuff and they combined the two. I understand they also do studio stuff in Toronto. Remember the Pepsi CP commercial where the boy wakes up from a nightmare (riding the Magnum) and grabs a Pepsi from the fridge and an OTSR drops on him? That was taped in Toronto too. *** Edited 8/17/2006 8:55:27 PM UTC by DemonDroppin'***
The Amazement Park
Ever wonder if the CP guys misspell the words intentionally, such as to avoid recognition by search engines/regular expressions? It's also interesting from DemonDroppin et al.'s comments that the current/previous casting is happening outside the midwest (another attempt to avoid detection??). Love these questions... they tickle my brain. ;)
I was also intruigued by how closely this seemed to match the new ride. I wouldn't be surprised if with all the western themeing in the construction signs CP decided to add some extra western touches to the commercials.
Thrills Around the Corner!
Take into consideration this year's video for the park commercial. All of the live footage was shot out west on rides that are at Knott's. Meaning anything that had a live person in it acting for the commercial specifically, was taken from out in CA.
