in the future....

First, Magnum and Millennium Force are not that much alike. Magnum is a traditional out and back roller coaster. It consists of a series of hills. Milliennium Force, however, is a speed coaster. It has just as many hills as it does overbanked turns.

I doubt 500ft will be reached soon (I could be wrong). Very few parks are going to build something that tall. Look at Millennium Force, how many other roller coasters actually go over 300ft?

The Next rollercoaster won't be 500 foot, It will be a B&M Floorless built next 2 DemonDrop.

That would be great. Batman at SF WoA is great and if CP built a floorless you know they'd make theirs even better.
I agree, a floorless or flyer (B&M) would be a great next addition to CP. I saw a rumor somewhere that it was going to be installed by Demon Drop, which is a great choice for floorless. I also think a flyer over on MF would be sweet as well.

Tom

Cedar Point could trump the local market with an addition of their own B&M flyer. They could build it taller and more extreme than X-Flight and Superman: Ultimate Flight. They might wait on building a floorless until SFGAm builds their own so they can build the tallest, they may build one before a flyer, or they may not build one at all. Only time will tell.

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

This is my idea for coasters in the future.

1. Superfast, that was my idea except I would like to see a Plug-and-Play wooden coaster (mabey tallest wooden) with non-stop airtime.

2. On Millie's island, intertwined with Millie I would like to see a wonderful, smooth, and mabey tallest B&M Floorless.

3. If you look on the map, there is this area above the marina and left of Millie's last over-banked turn (I'm not sure if that's really there or just drawn in the map). I would like to see a wonderful, smooth, mabey even the first outside loop, and tallest B&M Flying Coaster.

If you have not relized, I like tall coasters.

CP will never go 500 ft. There just isn't enough room unless they demolish some coasters.

A B&M flyer sounds cool. I always wanted to try one of those out. Wouldn't it feel cool to be flying over the midway. It would be a new signature landscape of CP, like Corkcrew over the midway. They would name it "The Eagle" to start becoming patriotic.

It would however, put SFWoA out of buisness, making me very sad.

Well, My good friend that I worked with last summer told me that cadillac cars are going to be removed in a few years. To possibly open up some space for a new coaster!

520, 500+, 160. prepare.

Can't you guys see? All the "heads" at Cedar Point are really geting into this whole "speed = fun" concept. They want faster and faster. To get there speed they will have to go 500+ Ft. Money? Space? Ha, if there is a will, there is a way. They hid that they had been planing this TTD ride for 3 YEARS. So to make this long boring story short, in my opinion, they are planning a 510 foot tall "hyper looping coaster". I think they will go for the largest loop ever along with the longest circuit known to man kind at 3 miles long. The supports for the track will line up with foot paths and will support on both sides of the foot paths to conserve space. This will be done. Mark My Words. ;)
Coasterking, IMO from your mouth to gods ears (one can only hope it becomes a reality). Personally, I would prefer no loops (no a big fan of them), but we know regardless of what CP does, they will deliver the best ride of its kind on the planet. Right now, I am just focused on getting to the Poiint in May.

Tom

Many of you say you would like to see taller and faster, at this point in time, after TTD opens, the park's focus should be on elements and layout. Build something thats a lot of fun and packs a punch, with out the excessive speeds and heights, Raptor being a good example of that.

NO, that is not a mispelling of the Matrix, that is actually my own movie, get it right!

Ryan Adams, your ideas are sound, however there is one flaw in your thinking. I assume when you say the first outside loop on a flying coaster you're talking about a vertical loop. This would never happen because the human body cannot take that much G-force when riding in that position. It hasn't been done thus far because it can't be done safely.
Sorry, I forgot to say that I think it would be great if the B&M Flyer would go over the water and get very close to the water.
Now there's a cool thought. Flying at 50 mph like 7 feet off the water. That would be cool. They could have water cannons in the water so that as the train passes, the cannons fire and it looks like a wake from the train passing over. (Think Dragonball Z, when the guys fly over the water REALLY fast.)

life without danger is a waste of oxygen

I think the next move for CP should be a big floorless, and as many others have suggested, near the Demon Drop. I don't know how convenient this would be, but to get some extra space for coasters, I was thinking that CP could build a multi level parking garage. It probably would congest things too much in the main lot, but you could cut the soak city and other lots in the back of the park down a lot, and save a lot more space. And about the 500 foot issue, you have to remember coasters only require a very narrow path of land for the track and supports, just look at Magnum. The total area it covers is very small because so much of it is in just a 20-30 foot wide straight line. They have more room than you think.

Enjoy your ride on the Big Bad Bug

I hope they sell Elephant Ears in line or maybe even there Boardwalk Fries, now that is what I am talking about!
I don't understand. Why do we need a 500' coaster? We got a hyper, giga, and strata coaster already. Does CP really need to go bigger. Magnum is almost like a kiddie coaster with MF and TTD around. If they were to build a 500' coaster, what was the point of making TTD? Top Thrill is basically just a big drop. So 500' would have a bigger drop and people would skip Top Thrill.

So going 500' would be a dumb move. If they had built it before MF and TTD, then it would have been a smart move. CP will just waste more money.

let's not worry what will happen latter and enjoy what we have now,

Coasta, they are building a coaster in Europe with a 95 degree drop, so Dragster will not have the steepest drop. I do agree enjoying this great new ride is and should be everyones priority. It is mine.

Its also nice to dream and think about the future. CP does not need a 500 footer, who knows what the future brings. We do know they like breaking those even numbered heights, and MM has lost more than a few titles to CP lately. Speculation makes these boards interesting, IMO.
