My wife and I will not be returning (tear) until opening day 2008.
I hope and pray I that closing weekend of 2006 was the last time I will ever see Disaster Transport.
The aquatic stadium should have left with the dolphins. Aside from the skeletons during Halloweekends, it's an eyesore. They put in Hurrican Hannah's, so there's a nice start on the beach theme....now get Demon Drop the heck out of there and roll with it.

Leave Demon Drop alone, it's sad enough to see it for sale.
Don't mess with a classic.

Why ride DD when PT is staring at you?
I have never gotten the appeal of those 1st generation free falls, they are one and done and not much of a drop. To me the drop ride scale goes from ok to the best non coaster ride in existence:
Intamin 1st Generation Free Falls-allready explained this one
Intamin 2nd Generation Free Falls-still one and done but a lot more of a drop
Intamin 3rd Generation Free Falls-slightly better then their pretessors in that they were built higher, spun so that you could see the whole area and had that sweet stand up modification to them
S&S Turbo Drops-multiple drops finally :)
S&S Space Shots-Just slightly better then the TDs because I like the feeling of launching up
S&S Combo Drops-On one ride you get a Space Shot and Turbo Drop cycle, best of both worlds and really the last "pure drop ride" in this chain however it cannot compare to:
MGM Studios Tower of Terror-As I said the best non coaster ride ever made, multiple drops, a unique negative G feeling I cant get anywhere else (even a coaster,) in the dark, the Twlight Zone theme and dark ride portions, the music. Pure Gold, leaves me laughing every time.
SS towers aren't freefall. You are launched to a speed, then held there. The only freefall drop at CP is Demon Drop.
Two different rides, two completely different experiences. Much like maXair and Skyhawk.

I don't have a problem with Demon Drop...it's for sale. The delay of which is most likely also delaying whatever plans they have for the area.

Details, they are still in the same family of rides, edit my "free falls" in my original post to "drop ride" and there you go.
I think CP needs a ride like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOCmoYU6h1Q
Think about it, just add some more seats and you got yourself a ride ;)

There are many rides CP can't build due to low capacity.

Beyond capacity, NBC Universal now has a 7 year exclusive contract for that technology in their parks.

I doubt that the piddling amount of money they would get for the sale of the ride is holding them up in any way. The very fact that it's still operating while waiting for a buyer suggests that its presence isn't interfering with their plans for that area.

Disney Mike: The Universal deal was just announced late last week. Oddly, it is the same Kuka (?) Arm used to move the Agler fish in The Seas with Nemo and Friends.
There was chatter that Imagineering was trying to develop a way to use this technology to lift an entire ride vehicle from a load area into a show building. I believe this was when they were trying to get Harry Potter - also now going to Universal.
By the way - the company was unable to develop an arm strong enough to move an entire vehicle.

I wasnt necessarily referring to the 5 bucks they're getting for it...but the space. I know the footprint is relatively small, but I would assume having it for sale would indicate that somewhere someone has an artistic rendition of what will be in its place...and I'm ready for that something; even if it's just a really cool new bathroom. :)

If CP had plans for the area where Demon Drop is and they wanted to move forward, they'd take out Demon Drop. Even if it hadn't sold, they'd either put it in storage or scrap it if they had bigger plans. They put it for sale because its not like a 10-day auction on Ebay or something. Plus, I'm sure they'd like to get money for it if possible.
