I think with me it is just a matter of having the right weather for the activity.

I seriously would dislike going to CP in April when the temp is in the 50's and it's raining/cloudy. I don't mind it so much in Oct. because it is the end of the season. In the spring, I anticipate summer and I want nice warm weather.

I love winter however, so it is not just disliking cold. I've been out on the ski slopes when the temperature is 15-20 below zero. I'm really looking forward to some cold and snow to get the ski season off to a fast start.

CP is a summer activity - sun, hot weather, shorts, sun screen. That's what CP is to me and that's why I really wouldn't like an April opening. Life is too short to rush the seasons like that.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Anyone see the news section where Valley Fair opened their new swing? And did anyone notice the temperature conditions?

Even so, there was no shortage of people wanting to try out the new Valleyfair attraction: a giant swing that lifts you 100 feet in the air at 60 mph."The cold adds a little fun to it ... I guess," one rider said.

CP could do the same...

Interesting comment-

"It runs very well in the cold weather, as we proved today," said Dave Vosejpka of Valleyfair. "She ran beautifully today."

Everyones thoughts??

Santa was dressed in his big, warm, red suit and he was still freezing his jingle bells off.

If people were showing an interest in going to the parks in the winter, don't you think the parks would have responded by now?

It ain't worth it.

At Cedar Point in the winter I had to walk about 15 feet from my car to my office and I absolutely hated it. There is no way I would go.

That and the Garter has no heat. Who wants to drink beer in a frozen building right Pete?

Actually CP was open over Xmas in 1994. I have a coffee mug that says "Christmas in the Park 1994" the carousel was open and a bunch of food stands. Everyone froze their hind end off.

And that's why there wasn't a "Christmas in the Park 1995".
