You didn't break a safety rule. But you did expect the crew to break one to let you ride, right?
I think the crew did as they are instructed to do. They are told that the guest needs to get the belt buckeled and get the necessary slack on their own. The signage indicates this as well. You weren't able to do that and therefore you weren't allowed to ride. Now you think you are deserving of a medal (oh wait - just "ert's" as you call them) or something. There have been a whole heck of a lot of people that this same thing has happened to over the past three seasons. Do I feel bad for them? Yes. Do I question the idea that having slack in the belt somehow makes you safer? Yes. Do I fault the crew for not allowing you to ride when you couldn't meet the requirements? No way man.
For giving you your way with your "ert's," the park deserves to be bombarded with letters from every other person who has ever been sent out of the train on Millennium Force. And trust me - the number is probably many thousands. If they cave in to you, they should do the same for everyone else.
By giving this kid his pass back, they are saying, "it's okay to break the rules and our employee was wrong for enforcing the rules in the first place."
Both are examples of management caving in under pressure. Sure they made these two people "happy," but in doing so they set a bad precedent.

Whatever dude.... It was bad handeling on the millis crews fault....
Would i be at fault if i had not fit the test seat ?? Yes !!
Then I would agree with you but seeing as I fit the test seat I had every right to ride the ride... UGH :(
Its people like you that dont understand because oh my i am skinny i can fit on every ride that frustrate me to no end... Just because us bigger people struggle does not give you a right to slam us into the ground and say that mangament caved in... LoL... I am sure now that you have not read the whole thread or else you would agree... but wait your super skinny guy so guess it does not matter to you...
There are well documented issues with difference between the test seat and the real thing, as well as people having trouble with the seat belt. It happens every day. There have been many guests in the exact same position as yourself. The difference here is that you made a huge issue out of it, above and beyond what was reasonable.
And even after doing that, they still did not let you ride. Doesn't that show that the crew was correct in the first place?

I'm 6'3 and 266. Far from super skinny guy. The test seat is not the one that goes 310 feet in the air and 93 mph. The one on the train is the one that counts. If it doesn't fit according to manufacturer specifications (which includes pulling the 1/2" of belt through), they can't just let you ride. IF something happens, (not that it would) they would be criminally and civilly liable.
Fitting in the test seat doesn't not give you any right to ride. The test seat is meant as a guide. If you fit you'll more than likely be able to ride, but its not a guarantee, just a guideline.

I agree Walt & John, but I really think the discrepancy is a problem that CP needs to correct.

First of all on milli I really did not care seeing as I had ridden it before.... Second of all I am sorry you thought I made a big issue out of it but after spending 80 dollars to go there and ride one ride Raptor it kinda made my day suck... My last visit was much better and I had a great time... Sorry if you think i was a bit radical but if you were in my shoes I am sure you would understand....
Second of all lets not ruin this thread and get off topic... Of course not that there was much of a topic to begin with but if he was reaching from the third row up to the front row and even gave the slightest apperance of standing up the ride op had every right to question it...
If you want to continue the seat discussion thread maybe we can do it over in the "One Riders thread " ??
No doubt that it is. But I think they are worrying about other things. Like how to get Skyhawk up to S&S reliability instead of Intamin reliability. It seems that every other week there is a report of one or both arms going limp.
Goodbye MrScott

or checking all the belts to verify that they match the test seat....
It is a common fact among employees and fanatics that some seats//belts are diffrent.....
I think they have bigger, more profitable fish to fry. Especially when only a small percentage of people have trouble with the test seat vs. the train.
I know it sounds bad, but CP is a business, after all.
Right, and I understand that comletely.
But, honestly, exactly how many man-hours would be required if they were to order a matching MF seat from Intamin?
Its not like we're talking about a major overhaul. Its one seat.
Brandon
Actually, all they have to do is switch out the seatbelt. I don't know why they haven't done that yet, but hey - who knows.

Aren't the bigger fish what all the fuss is about over at MF and TTD?
When you said that, I couldn't help but think of a particular Simpsons episode.

I'm not sure I believe the kid's pass was reinstated or that Kinzel had ANYTHING to do with it. That sounds as fishy as his first post.

Yeah, the perch is pretty damn delicious. I just wish I could get it cooked some other way than fried, but I guess I can handle it because it's like heaven on a bun (tm) when its in sandwich form.
I've just been observing, but I think the FISHIEST thing here is Joeblow444's choice of wording in his original post:
"Here is a copy of the story sent to cedar point in an email. "
STORY?
I think I would have chosen wording such as, Here is a record of my account of events... or here is a detailed letter explaining my experience.
I think Stories are fishy.
