How big are you? Can you ride?

Interesting... Well its nice that at least someone likes my idea, exit, I thought I'd just get a lot of flaming! :)

It's a great motivation, and it's definately motivated me this season.

My only issue with the seat belts is that if Intamin dictates that they be a certain length, then every seat on every train should be the same length. I also don't understand the difference with me being able to fasten my own seat belt and having some assistance from a ride host. Am I safer because I buckled it myself. The point is that it gets buckled. The last several times I had ridden MF, before I could even start to fasten the seatbelt, the ride host rushed to help and fasten. I never asked for assistance. On this past Monday morning, I opted to ride in the front, since I got in for early entry, and the seatbelt was clearly shorter in that seat than it is in the back seat. The ride host practically refused to even hold the female end of the buckle so I could get it attached, and I was denied riding. I had even sat in the test seat before getting in line, and fit just fine. My only request would be that there is consistency in the buckles for EVERY seat, and consistency with all of the ride hosts as to how they assist guests. I understand they have to think of all of the other riders on the train and now slow down the dispatch cycle, but had she offered to help, I could have ridden, and everyone would be happy.

Being able to tighten the belt yourself may be proof of your consciousness and ability to sustain yourself through the ride. No idea, but just making up an idea...

MF's seatbelts are a pain in the A to get on, but it can be done

Either I've gotten bigger or those belts have gotten smaller. The last three times I've rode it's been near impossible for me to get it fastened. At first I thought it was just a blue train thing, but then I had one that felt even shorter in yellow today. *sigh* Guess it might be time to hit the rec center when the semester starts again.

I'm 14 , but my dad's weight is 230 lbs, 6'2" and has 40" waist and when he went on it he had trouble but he managed to get it on. He had no problem with TTD though.

Well I didn't get on this year and I weigh the same as last year and yes they have gotten new seat belts and yes they are smaller

i went back this year expecting the worse.

It was good that i was expecting the worst because it made it not as bad when i had to make the walk of shame. i don't fit purly because of my larger thighs. you can have a relaivly large gut and make it on as long as u have smaller legs/behind. It helps to consider clothing when you are borderline though, it was lot harder for me to make it on TTD when i wasn't wearing my compression shorts and my swim suit (thin fabric). just another tip *** Edited 8/22/2006 10:10:36 PM UTC by GAM man 68*** *** Edited 8/22/2006 10:11:57 PM UTC by GAM man 68***

I tried the gym shorts too and in my opinion the seatbelts are alot smaller than last year. The good thing though is that last year TTD was down and it wasnt this year and I fit fine and I got 2 rides in, so it wasn't a total loss.

I don't think there's any difference in the belts this year. I gained a few pounds this year and still had no problem. If anything, I think they're more forgiving because of the fact that they rerouted the belt under the bar on the side of the seat. Gives you an extra inch or so.

If you have been on MF over the years you have to believe that the seatbelts are new and are shorter

Here is my question. What's the deal with the inconsistancies (sp?!) between seat belts. I went to Dragster first believing that would be the greater of the two evils. I sat down and measured and easily had an inch and a half of slack. So I'm thinking that I can get on Millennium Force with no problem. Not true. When I sat down for MF, I had to stuggle (and I mean big time use all my weight training) to buckle the seat belt. At one point, the ride operator came over and click it in for me. Forget the half in of slack because they just wasn't happening. He let me ride anyway and it was great.

Because of this, I was extremely nervous for TTD. I got on it and the seat belt was even looser than the test seat. What's the deal?

MF goes faster so they had to tighten it ;)

I was able to ride with no problems yesterday.

I fit ok but was nervous, and typically had to yank semi-hard but I was more concerned about my feet fitting. MF wasn't as bad for my feet as Dragster was. I rode everything but got uncomfortable on Wildcat, and CCMR.

Jeff, a big part of the problem is that Dragster's seats are much deeper than Millennium's. I'm not certain, but I imagine the standard belt length is the same or very close on the two rides, but Dragster has the roomier seat, so your butt is down lower leaving extra room for the belt.

See, that is so strange with them being the same trains, or so I thought. I also go the imfamous yellow train and I remember stories back in the opening saying those seats were too short.

Honestly, I think it is great that Cedar Point and Intamin are making sure folks are safe, but man when I look in the mirror I don't see morbidly obese. I feel like a guy my size should be able to ride no problem without being rejected or killed during the ride. There are football players who are bigger than me and in shape and will not be able to ride Millennium Force.

I know this is an old topic, but I was at the park today and rode Millenium Force four times. While I do not consider myself very big (6 foot 215), three of the rides I had no problem at all getting slack.

However one of the rides I could barely get the belt buckled. I was in shock and after the ride compared the belt to the one my buddy used next to me and mine was about 4 inches shorter than his.

I am posting this to let anyone who is a tight fit on Millenium to not sit in this seat. It was the red train, second to last row, left seat (lake side). I hope people read this and make sure to stay away from this seat because the seat belt is significantly shorter than that of the others. Thanks, and I hope this helps.

This is interesting to hear. I was able to pull slack much easier than I did last season, but perhaps it was just the seat I got. I have never been told flat out that the belts are different lengths, but I am beginning to believe it myself. One thing I did notice is that Blue Streak and Mean Streak have 2 different types of seats. One I can sit in very easily and comfortably, while the other I feel like I have to force myself into the seat. The easier seats felt hard, while the difficult seats felt more padded. I don't know if this is new, but on my second ride on Blue Streak this weekend, I went to sit down and it was much more tight and uncomfortable than the first ride.
