I just rode a few weeks ago and I'm 5 10 245. I've noticed the type of pants/shorts that you wear makes a diffrence too. When I went a few weeks ago, I was wearing a pair of cargo shorts that were kind of bulky and the ride opp had to help me put on my belt. when I went a week ago i had on a pair of thinner shorts, almost like a golf short and I had about 2 inches of slack and was able to fasten it with no problem. On TTD I've never had a problem with riding.

The type of pants/shorts makes a huge difference if you are right on the edge of fitting. Just like what Gmoney said wear thin shorts, and I sometimes take it one step further and go without any underwear for that little bit of extra room.
Well, if you wear cotton boxers instead of flannel, it shouldn't make a noticeable difference.
Goodbye MrScott

^ Do you still put your legs on one leg at a time though? ;)
I almost forgot...

I have no problem fitting on the rides, though I can't wear "slim fit" jeans because I squat and have really muscular thighs. Just a small tidbit of information. :)

I wasnt thinking going comando, and I dont think that that will make a real big diffrence. but if your wearing cargo shorts and you change into basketball Mesh shorts, then that may make a huge diffrence.

WOW!!
That was more than a small tidbit!

Hi All,
I totally agree that it all depends on body type. I had no problem getting on and I am 5'9 and 230. I lift weights so most of my weight is upper body. Of course I could lose a little body fat but the point is that my lower body is not that big.
Height- 6'2"
Weight- 235
Waist- 36"
Able to Ride- Yep, everything!
2008- Foods (Corral)
2009- Corkscrew
2010- Magnum XL-200

That's weird. Do you not squat or deadlift?

Exit English,
My lower back and knees are pretty messed up from playing sports my whole life (I am 28) and only 2 exercises that give me trouble are squats and deadlifts. I will use the leg press but that still bothers my knees and lower back.
Hi.
I am a female and i wear a size 17 jean shorts size. I don't know if i will fit and i am very worried.
Height ... 5'1"
Weight ... 105lb
Able to Ride ... I'd hope so, I've been fine on everything else including TTD :)
What I would like to add to this thread that may be somewhat constructive and logical is this. People should not dis Intamin for making the restraints only suitable to...smaller... people. Look at it this way: take it as the reason, the drive, the force to get you to lose weight as you wish to so badly ride the rides. :)
Yes, I know. Logic doesn't seem to go over too well these threads, I'm prepared for what I get... ;)

Makes sense to me. I'm 25, and starting to feel kind of old sometimes.
I was doing some hack-squats today and my left knee started to give me some trouble, so I had to cut it short. Granted, it was my last routine of the night anyway, so it wasn't a big deal.
As for my lower back, it's shot. If I don't wear a belt when I'm squatting, I'm screwed.
Either way, I think its safe to say that squats will not prevent you from riding MF :).
topthrill4lyf - I think that's a great thing for people to use as their motivation. I've honestly debated asking Walt if I could start a thread with some tips on getting fit for the force, but I don't know how much effort and/or trolling that would bring about.
It's pretty simple, really. You gotta stay focused on what you want to accomplish. If someone laughs at you for it, screw 'em. They're your goals, not theirs.
