Aug 13 is a little early to end a contract. Towards the end of the month they need as many people to keep working as they can get. I'm not saying change you date to the 30th but it may help you to give them about 10 more days or so. The last week of august sucks for everyone who sticks around, usually 70-79 hours that week so it is nice if we can have people work later in the month so that we only have one week of long hours instead of 3 weeks.

May 10th is 1 week earlier. thats very doable. Ill be at cp the day that I get out of school. And before I do too. I live in Columbus Ohio so its not too far but still a 2 hour drive. So I think 3 days is plenty of time no matter where you are coming from. I have a friend in Georgia who will be up as soon as he can which will prolly be within a day of his school letting out.

If you can not make it the earliest or stay the latest don't worry, there are others who have to leave early or come later. Just be honest with them. It would look worse to tell them that you will go later than you actually can, and leave earlier than you are contracted. As long as your there majority of the summer and do your best to be there as long as possible they will be thankful. Good luck to everyone.

Wow Kevin and Ben you guys are scaring everybody, lol Kevin, just because you go up the day after school ends doesn't mean everyone does. August 13th is not too early at all, we had half our crew leave by August 15th. Schools on semesters start much earlier. I worked from June 10th to Sept. 9th...not even 3 months. Trust me you will be fine. And Raptor12, you won't get it in the mail until late March-early April. Keep checking online, your contract will be posted on there much sooner than you get it in the mail.

Mackenzie, Of all of my posts this is the least likely to scare someone. I simply said that it would help to be available. And if he is available to come for training week it is gonna be benificial for him and his crew. Availability wont always hurt you. But it will definitly help. And like Mackenzie said be honest with them during your interview. Especially if you plan on returning for a second season. But even if your planning on this being your only year it is always good to leave on good terms. They can give you some of your best references for future jobs or if you change your mind half way through the winter and decide to come back.

Haha, all your posts are scary, especially now that you are a seasoned employee, you're talking all wise and mature...kinda weird. Haha be honest about your availability yes. BUT if emergencies pop up during the summer and you absolutely HAVE to leave early then again, be honest and give them warning. Management was much more understanding than I thought they would be when I had to leave early.
