Goodyear Blimp?

The Goodyear Blimp was hovering around CP yesterday. It seemed to come in fast and stay for about 10 minutes and left fast. I thought they might be taping Millennium Force for a future show on Discovery or something?

What time did you notice it? I know there was a race up at Michigan Speedway, which is usually covered by some sort of airship. Perhaps it was on it's way home to Akron?

I know this is a super old topic, but I'm doing this for Thabto. Has anybody noticed the Goodyear Blimp hover over Cedar Point since this topic was created back in 2000? I've never been to the park on the day it hovers over, but I think it would be really cool!

Yes, I am a huge blimp nerd. I think it would be epic to see the blimp over the park. I go up to Wingfoot Lake often to see the blimp.

If anyone's got some photos to share, I would love to see them. On the Goodyear Blimp Facebook page when they ask where I would take a ride to I say Cedar Point.

Last year the Minion blimp flew over. I have to look for some pics. I took a couple.

I have seen three at the same time circle the park. Two were returning from a race at MIS and the third was the California blimp returning to Akron for service. They each circled the park and continued on to Akron. I see them all the time heading to and from events.

You most likely saw the whole fleet back in 2002 when the Spirit of America was christened. Goodyear had the entire fleet in Akron for the event.

I think it was an event after a race at Michigan because Dale Earnhardt Jr. was at the park in some other photos I didn't post.

I hope they fly the new blimp, Wingfoot One over Cedar Point sometime.

The new blimp flew over our high school football game a few weeks ago. Our marching band was invited to play at the blimp's christening ceremony and as "payment" Goodyear offered to fly overhead for the first half of a game. It was neat but the overcast sky put a serious damper on getting awesome pictures.

Jackson Band did a great job performing at the christening.

Sorry to bring this topic back, but the Goodyear Blimp from Akron is going to an airshow in Wisconsin tomorrow. I'm thinking they could fly over or near the park on the way up there. If anyone sees it, please share some pictures here.

I'll be sure to look for it for you.. But I probably won't see it because I'll be in Kansas so good luck with that..

I just saw a blimp over Cedar Point on Wednesday. It didn't say Goodyear on the side though. Not sure what company it was.

Kind of related... we were eating at Quaker Steak the other night at the park entrance and a drone was flying over head. Not sure what that was all about!

They left their Wingfoot Lake base near Akron around 11:30 this morning. They should be up near there soon if they were to fly over there.

One should never equate an obsession of theirs to Shawn's obsession with Shoot the Rapids. That's by far the most unhealthy obsession I've ever seen.

^ I'm trying to work on it. I think this season, I've been more obsessed with Rougarou than Shoot the Rapids. I still try to hit Shoot the Rapids once or twice during my visits.

Saw a blimp flying off to the north of my house heading east yesterday evening toward Cedar Point. Seemed to be heading down the coastline. lt didnt appear to be the Goodyear blimp.

The Snoopy Blimp was in Toledo last night. It was in the Akron area this morning. The Goodyear blimp heading to Wisconsin is docking in Goshen, IN tonight and will get to Oshkosh tomorrow afternoon. I found out they will make their return to Akron next Tuesday.

Wednesday was the Hendrick's Gin blimp.

I believe we have a blimp savant!
