Based on this tweet - I'd say that's exactly the case.
You may not see a reason to, but the park certainly does.
This is not the first time they've blocked the webcams during testing of a new ride and neither are they the first park to do this.
It makes perfect sense during the initial phase of testing. You don't want images of something going wrong during testing of your shiny new ride getting out if you can help it.

There is a very good reason to. If by the rare chance something does happen like it valleys during the run or something along those lines, they would not want the public to be able to see it. The internet would just blow it out of proportion. Cedar Point wants to be the one who distributes video/photos of how the first test run went.

I'm not sure. Ok , if they do testing and they have a problem or a fire. OK, so what? I am correct saying that this is WHY they do the testing. I mean, they are putting dummies on the track right now, if the train for some reason falls off the track, a dummy dies!
I am not worried, mistakes happen, this is why they test. Would you rather a test fail, then a regular run when you are on the train?
perhaps they are just moving the cams, remember they asked a while back where the cams should be?
@EatonJB
Lets say they kept the webcams on and there was a fire or dummys fell out. Now the public has pictures of the roller coaster malfunctioning. That may discourage people from riding the ride if they see it on fire or dummys falling out.
We enthusiasts know the ride will be fine, but some people don't know that and may be scared to ride because of the failed testing.

They wouldn't completely remove the webcams from the site just so they could be moved, the cams being moved would disappear from the webcam page, leaving only the dragster cam, since it is the only one confirmed to be staying.
