So looks like a nice week ahead and could be great testing run weather. Do they normally start doing this at night time to avoid onlookers and such?
Being on a peninsula, I don't think they have to worry about onlookers. :)

When we are able to see the cabins on giant wheel start to be put on is when the park starts to breathe life again.

understood but does seem that parks have done initial test runs on off hours. I figure it makes it a little harder to see them doing it. Of course can be hard on those watching if they are monitoring cars on track visually. Just hoping they can start testing this week.
I know it sounds odd, but if i lived in one of the houses that are next to the parking lot and i heard testing at 3am i would be just a little irritated. I know they are used to the traffic during the season and such, but that seems a little overkill. If they tried testing in the dark they probably would not be able to see if there was a malfunction of something.

Judging from when other Cedar Fair coasters made their first test runs (Leviathan, Intimidator, etc.) they have all been run during the day. My guess is that Gatekeeper will also be run during the day.

Coasters I want to ride: #1 El Toro #2 Leviathan #3 The Voyager #4 I305 #5 Behemoth
Why would they want to hide it? As stated above, Leviathan first tested in the middle of the day with many people there taping it. I think there's a good chance for a test run Thursday or Friday.

They have multiple cameras fixed on the ride so people can stare at it anytime they want. It's free advertising. Why would they worry about "onlookers" seeing it test?
Well, if, say, a fire broke out on it, that might reduce its appeal. ("Cedar Point: Home to the World's first Fire Coaster").
Or if on lookers saw one of the test dummies fall out ("The First Parachute Coaster"), or if a dummy head got severed ("We eliminated 'head-banging'")
If testing goes well onlookers are word of mouth publicity. If testing bombs, well, it's a different word of mouth.

It's a B&M. It will be fine. If it were an Intamin, then yes, the webcams would definitely be risky ;)
I think he's kidding, hence the winky face.

Only half kidding. I mean look at B&M testing incidents compared to Intamin. One clearly has a superior track record.
This isn't a new stealth jet from skunkworks. This is a publicly announced rollercoaster. Testing will happen during the day.

I think testing will begin soon. It looks as if the bucket lift was at the track this morning as if they were inspecting it and maybe making their marks on the bolts and track.
Looks like the two trains are moving back and forth in station and transfer/brake run area!!!! FINALLY!!!
Now that testing has started what next Gatekeeper subject can we obsess over now? ;-)
We still haven't gotten our first test run so we can still obsess about it ;)
