you cannot argue over which coaster manufacture is better, because they are completely different. They are both made for two completely different ride experiences, and they are obviously completely different styles of coasters.
Unless you can compare Gatekeeper to Top Thrill Dragster or Mantis to Millennium Force, the argument is useless, and it can't even be statistically proven because it is based off opinion.
This is just like the CP vs SFMM argument, they are two completely different style of parks for different purposes.
now lets get back on topic to what this thread is about, does anyone have any idea how soon the soft wheels can be taken off or if anyone can get good testing footage from Battery Park?

I don't get the theming they've chosen - I understand the idea of integrating the front gate into the ride, but it just never seemed to make much sense to me. It's a ... bird? What's in a name, anyway, right??
It's a griffon. Sooo it's essentially a type of gargoyle protecting the entrance to the park. It makes more sense when you think about the relation between gargoyles, griffons, and their role in mythology.

^I'm anxious to see more of the construction progress since they are going the route of secrecy. I like the theme and I hope they incorporate the food stands with the Gatekeeper name. :)
I still wonder exactly why the webcams have been gone for as long as they have. I can agree as to why they did it for testing purposes (so that way people wouldn't see if it valleyes, got stuck, a dummy fell out, etc.) but you would think they would be confident enough with the ride by now to put the cams back up. Unless the park doesn't want us to see the front gate and finished product until Media Day, or there is some big surprise, I really don't know why the webcams are still down. It better be worth it :)

Top 5 CP Coasters: 1. Steel Vengeance 2. Millennium Force 3. Maverick 4. Dragster 5. Magnum
Coaster Count: 102
^ They are still doing initial testing of the ride. That testing goes on for weeks, not days.

^Yeah, I guess you're right. I'm just so anxious to see it!

Six Flags is more of a thrill seeking amuesment park, Cedar Point is an all around theme park.
Actually, I'd classify Six Flags parks as more of a thrill seeking theme park and Cedar Point as just an amusement park.

Fast Wheels Lane Plus?
New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus
CP and SFMM are both VERY SIMILAR coaster-oriented parks. I'd honestly say they are that SFMM is the closet thing to Cedar Point outside of Cedar Point.
Demon Drop 2004
Castaway Bay Lifeguard 04-05
^SFMM is the closest park to CP. Both focus on having a lot of coasters and high end ones as well. Overall I have to say Cedar Point is the better park though IMO.
Top 5 Coasters #1 Millennium Force #2 Intimidator (Carowinds) #3 Top Thrill Dragster #4 The Beast #5 X2
Coasters I want to ride: #1 El Toro #2 Leviathan #3 The Voyager #4 I305 #5 Behemoth

Cedar Point is the better park in the opinion of almost everyone outside of California. Magic Mountain has a few great coasters, but that's about all they have.
This thread is all over the place. GateKeeper is such a stunningly beautiful coaster, it's going to leave a lasting impression on guests leaving the park (along with the newly themed Luminosity!)

Are you the pretzel master?
Dvo, that was funny! Wouldn't it be funny if they actually had that? There would be so many people from the general public confused over that. I suppose a hot dog would be a called a Hot keeper..lol. Anyway, though back on topic here. We know that Gatekeeper is testing, but what about the other rides? They haven't mentioned that yet.
