GateKeeper might not be the best coaster in the park, but it will certainly attract guests. I know when I explain the ride to the GP, they're amazed that you sit on the sides of the car. That'll alone bring people to the park.

Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

Simple-minded buffoons.

Yeah I was browsing around this topic and today and cannot believe a couple people are complaining about this ride? Cedar Point spent close to $30 Million Dollars on this ride! $30 MILLION! Next year that money will be more like $5 million on general park improvements. I'm excited for Gatekeeper :)

^That is what always amazes me. You can't say it is going to be great or mediocre until you have actually ridden the thing.

^ I agree how can anyone say this ride won't be good if they haven't ridden it. That's like being out to eat and saying your food is nasty before even tasting it. Give the ride a chance...I remember the complaints about Maverick based on its looks and we all know how that ride turned out.

The green train from Millennium landed under Magnum and that is what is causing Magnum to sink!!!

I just don't understand why people are never satisfied. It's almost like they expect Cedar Point to come out with the worlds tallest and fastest roller coaster each year.

Coaster Bucket List: 1) Fury 325 2) Leviathan 3) Intimidator 305 4) Kingda Ka 5) Formula Rosa

The most likely reason that people don't like the ride any more is most likely because they have spent enough time waiting for the park to open and are mad so they take there anger out on whatever is new.

What he said. To add to that, I found X Flight to be just as enjoyable as Wild Eagle. Neither is a "HOLY CORN NUGGETS! THIS RIDE WILL BLOW YOU MIND" kind of coaster, but it's just what the park deserves. Gatekeeper is already a home run in my books.

X-Flight was a very fun ride. My only complaint was that it was a little short in duration. CP has taken that complaint and squashed it. The keyholes on X-Flight were awesome and CP topped that as well. I think once people have ridden a wing coaster, they appreciate it more.

When has anybody ever said that about a B&M? You go to Intamin for the mind blowing. That being said, I think GK will pack a decent punch.

Im not expecting extreme forces with GK, and anybody that does is going to be disappointed. I can hear the complaints already, its forceless, no airtime....blah blah blah! Ride/enjoy it for what it is!

I think its going to be a great experience sitting level with the track on the outside. I see it as a very smooth, graceful, re-rideable roller coaster that the GP is going to eat up! I even see my mom going on GK and she's not a big fan of roller coasters! Even my 6 year old twins are telling me about having dreams of GK! I know my daughter will not even be close to the height mark, but my son may be flirting with it, keeping my fingers crossed!

Im looking forward to media day!

In all honesty, no ride has been able to attain that status since 1989.

Im not so sure Gatekeeper won't have airtime. The second hill looks like it will have a nice pop of airtime on it. However I don't think there are many other spots where it will have much airtime though, but that is okay, that isn't what this coaster is about. I also think some parts will be forefull, especially the first drop and inversion. Going 67 mph through that thing probably packs a pretty good punch.

I agree with Jugga. The last 15-20 years of roller coaster construction has been expected, pretty much routine. Very similar to the progress of computer and cell phone technology. Magnum really started the whole thing. MF and TTD were a big deal, but not as big of an impact Magnum had 25 years ago.

I think that the gatekeeper is the only wing coaster with at least one air time hill.

Right so the only way anyone will know if this ride is going to be good or not is to actually ride the ride and we all have less then a month to go...YAY!!!!

I have until August. :(

Still, I'm trying to temper my expectations. I don't expect this ride to be Maverick or Dragster, but I fully expect it to be a very enjoyable coaster that's unique even in the diverse lineup at Cedar Point. It's already a great addition visually.

It is, unless "Flying Over the Rainforest" out in China has one.

I for one love B&M coasters. They might not be as big and fancy as Intamin products, but they are (in my opinion) very solid, and reliable nonetheless. Don't get me wrong, I love Intamin coasters too, but I think B&M's are a bit underated in the thrills department.
