Maybe they are just waiting to build a "world record" Space Spiral.
Yes... Cedar Point is going to save up their money for a few yers then build a true space spiral... that goes all the way to space... :-)
To be honest I get really nervous every time I get on the space spiral, I always imagine the cabin crashing to the ground... yet I ride dragster and millenium without hesitation... go figure...

Get rid of Dt and the stadium thing (w/e its called) and put a nice huge woodie in there. Maybe it would cross over WT's station or something. Maybe Adam or the people who are good at photoshop could do a mock up.
Perhaps it is just me but I think a wooden coaster would look somewhat out of place in the corner of the park... I really think the 'frontierland' area is a much more appropraite place for a wooden coaster.... Gemini is not there and I think It looks somewhat out of place in its current location my Magnum and the Dragster tower... And yes, I love gemini dearly im just saying that wooden rides would not look aesthetically pleasing in the front of the park... it is a completely different atmosphere from the front and rear of the pennisula

So, Cedar Fair LP, replace the windows, repair/replace the A/C, get rid of the damn tape, and watch the ridership numbers climb again!
I don't think that will work. While I would enjoy the ride more and many others on here would too, that type of change won't raise the ridership numbers.
Ask some guest at the park, "Why don't you ride Space Spiral"?
I can guarantee that you won't hear someone say, "Because the windows are dirty, there's no A/C, and the auto spiel is annoying". What they'll probably say is "What's Space Spiral?".

Yeah I highly doubt Cedar Point will relocate or dismantle the Blue Streak. That's a wooden classic and I highly doubt they would relocate it. Back to Space Spiral, why do people not like it? It's a great ride for guests who don't ride Tall Rollercoasters and like going up heights, but being enclosed.
It was the first coaster built under the present incarnation of Cedar Point, not the first ever built there. There were close to a dozen predecessors built and operated there during it's first seven and a half decades.
As far as the SS, there were a group of them sold to parks about the same time back in the mid 1960's. The one at Seaworld in San Diego is now recieving a new cabin after nearly forty years of service. Von Roll, which also built the one at CP, was bought out by another company that continues to build sky rides and sky lifts. They have dropped the Skytowers from production altogether. Seaworld has contracted with a Japanese firm to build the new cabin.
Ask some guest at the park, "Why don't you ride Space Spiral"? ... What they'll probably say is "What's Space Spiral?". Hmmm. Hard to say. It is in all the brochures, and it has been part of the logo since, well... a long time.
However, if you ask them "Why don't you ride the Space Spiral again", and I am sure that you would hear someone say, "Because the windows are dirty, there's no A/C, and the auto spiel is annoying".
So when exactly did the AC stop working on SS? I don't remember, but it has been a loooong time since that cabin wasn't an oven in July. There are some who claim it was never air-conditioned, but I distinctly remember it as a place of refuge from the heat at times, and shivering in there when riding after a rainstorm.

I must confess I had completely forgotten about blue streak being at the front of the park... it is both visually and mentally well hidden in its little corner behind raptor... To be honest I have not been on blue streak or even near it in quite a while... but since it cannot be easily seen fron the main midway I dont think it is a aesthetic distraction by any means...

I don't think Blue Streak would fit in very well in Frontier Town. And Gemini is a steel coaster. :)
I believe Andrew was talking about ride aesthetics. Gemini is a steel tracked coaster, but its structure and appearance are most definitely those of a woodie.
