Front Gate Destruction/Construction

True, but not as a viable means of mass producing electric energy......which is what I was getting at. Plus, I doubt the trees that are replaced after deforestation have any kind of serious impact with the always rising levels of CO2 in the ozone.

But hey, enjoy those blue skies while you can. :)

I agree completely. They should make every effort to preserve the vegetation. Thrill rides are only a part of what makes the park a nice place to visit (and I say this as a thrill maniac).

When they cut down native trees, they usually replace them something like honey locust. There's a big hackberry tree by the Magnum and I hate the thought of it being replaced with honey locust.

While we're discussing trees...I always liked that tree inside Magnum's final turn before the end course brakes. Anyone know why it was removed?

I assumed it was growing up and encroaching on the ride area. Just speculation though.

Yeah, I was hoping it was removed for jeopardizing Magnum's structural integrity or something critical like ash borers (Isn't this why the Frontier Trail lost so many?).

I remember thinking it needed to be trimmed a little after reaching out and touching the foliage while riding Magnum. Then, I returned the next season and it was gone.

I thought that area looked so bland without it, and I was hoping it wasn't removed for the effort of keeping it trimmed or mowing around it.

I believe some trees have been removed by Magnum for the operators line of sight to certain parts of the ride. I'm not sure about the one in the final turn.

It's all your fault Ffej!

;)

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

They now have a crane in front of what I think is the group sales building.

Plant a smaller tree. :)

I don't understand the obsession with trees? Are Cedar Point fans supposed to be hardcore tree huggers?

I don't think we are concerned with tree removal for the sake of the planet. In my opinion, it just seems like we are seeing a lot more cement and less plants/trees.

I think most of us would prefer to see landscaping and such. Especially those of us that have visited a Six Flag Amusement Park(ing lot).

It's OK to talk about trees on here, IMO.

Take a look at the name of the park, people :)

Concrete Point?

They took down a couple big ones to make way for the turnaround just in front of the picnic pavilion but none of you have noticed that yet it seems.

No Way! That sucks as well. God bless those trees.

I do love trees! I know that they help keep you cool when it gets so hot!

Don't worry, I noticed they took those tree's down also. But, since I already said my piece about CP firing up the chainsaws every chance they can, and being called a greenpeace tree hugger for it. I decided to shut the hell up about the cutting down of tree's on this site. I mean they are only tree's.

Oh pssh, scenery's only good to increase the excitement rating of your coaster when it's built within two squares of the track.
