I like the color. It's modern, unique, and will definitely add to the "WOW!" statement I think the park is trying to get with the entrance area and front gate.

Now that the entrance area will be so modern and updated, do you think in the coming years the park will work on renovation many other buildings and facades inside the park? With an entrance like this, I think the rest of the park's buildings will just seem blah in comparison.

I believe they will renovate more buildings in the coming years. Which ones really need one?

I'd love to see the ballroom renovated. No idea what use it could be, but it just seems like a waste.

I don't want this thread to become a 2014 speculation forum but with Planet Snoopy addition at KD, I would love to see our Kiddy Kingdom re-themed with a renovation to the ballroom right in the middle to tie the Planet Snoopy theme together. I think it could look really cool and modernize parts of K.K.

I like how kiddy kingdom is still stuck in the 70s :)

After the A frame buildings up front (behind Hurricane Hannahs and the main gate bathrooms, the first one that comes to my mind is the entire Disaster Transport refreshments building. You know the one that says FUDGE on the outside? I know they're going to rename it Gatekeeper Refreshements but the entire structure needs modern looking paint and updated. It just screams 70's and looks the same as it did when I was little, yuck.

^I thought it was mentioned that those stands would be getting a facelift as well as new names etc?

They are. They're being modernized.

They have already announced a multi-million dollar renovation on the hotel properties over the next 3+ years. I believe that will really help with adding to the "resort"/ extended stay vacation opportunities for the park, instead of just being a couple day theme park visit.

There truly is a LOT of stuff to do at the point, the property renovations is just going to make the week long vacation stays that much more inviting.

I hope they can utilize the ballroom for something. But, I think there may be to much ADA Compliance issues to deal with for general public use, from a cost/benefit analysis.

I really wish they would keep one of the Bars open til 2am for us adults that would lke some nightlife after the park closes, the ballroom could make an awesome dance club

As far as I know, the biggest ADA issue with the ballroom is the lack of elevator access. That could be accomplished by adding a lift that would attach to one of the balconies in the same way they added lifts to multiple rides last season. I suspect the bigger issue is finding a use for that historic space that will justify the expense.

That is the million dollar question isn't it... what do you use the ballroom for if you modernize it?

Destroy it. Build a small kiddie coaster to share between Kiddie Kingdom and Planet Snoopy

Good god I hope that orange is primer or something. It totally clashes with the beautiful white and blue of Gatekeeper. It might be an OK color elsewhere, but not right there as the base of those beautiful white towers.

Maybe we should let them finish before we start critiquing their work.

Good God I hope you're never in charge of development. Tear down that old building? It's 107 years old and you want to tear it down for a small kiddie coaster? There must be a better use for that building's space than to just TAER IT DOWN!!!!!1!

Now, I'd be all for dispersing the old Kiddy Kingdom rides throughout the park (keeping the KK Carrousel and Krazy Kars at their locations and getting rid of Tubs) and adding in some better, fresher kids rides, including a small roller coaster. It would liven up a very weak and outdated area of the park immensely.

I actually liked the stone that was in the renderings for the main entrance. Whether you like the orange or not, it's for sure going on the buildings.

There was a time when that ballroom was the lifeblood of the park.
