Front Gate Destruction/Construction

Actually, the way Disney's pricing works with the Magic Your Way option, the more days you add to your pass, the cheaper the additional days become. It ends up being like $10 per additional day after so many days (starts at over $80 for a single day). The way they do their pricing, it makes total sense to have the scanners, to prevent people from selling off their leftover days that they got cheap as a courtesy for spending soo much in the first place.

So when will they start pouring the pavement area and working on the grass/trees and such? I know it is a little early but I assume they want that all done for the new entrance and Gatekeeper by opening day.

In the newest pointcast, it was said that concrete for the front was slated to be poured this week.

And the cement truck is there right now. This coaster is coming along wonderfully.

That big tree with the leafy vines by the stroller rental is coming down right now. I always like that unique tree. Ah the price of progress.

They have been clearing the area around the station all morning. Piles of lumber have disappeared and the trailer is now gone from view. Looks like they got a dusting of snow as well.

Edit to add: The tree is now gone. Loaded on a truck to be hauled away.

I cant believe they took out that really old tree, it was a gem. I guess i can always walk around it using google street view.

I heard the tree was relocated to Charmland, so you can always go there to stand underneath it.

Hey everyone, just came back home from spring break tonight. Anybody have any updated webcam pictures of the front gate area?

It hasn't changed too much in the past week. Apparently during the Pointbuzz tour tomorrow there will be an announcement about Gatekeeper released during the Q&A section. Wonder what it is.

The gold coverings looked much better IMO. The colored wings also looked better. I feel like there's too much blue and white but I'm not complaining! It's going to look amazing.

Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

I love the entrance, but my only complaint would be the fact that if someone wanted to take a picture of the ride, they wouldn't exactly be able to get the sign in the pic, or at least at a straight angle...

The sign is still closer to the coaster than Magnum's sign.

The sign for Millennium Force is far away too. I love the renderings and I feel like picture taking is going to be a lot of fun this year with Wicked Twister and Gatekeeper next to each other. Speaking of Gatekeeper, has anyone noticed that the first webcam is screwed up? It looks like it was flooded with a lot of rain yesterday.

From the pictures that were released this week, I would say that I am impressed with what the park has come up with. This looks better than any entrance plaza design that exists at the park currently, and it encompasses not only the ride but a view of lake Erie. No complaints here.

It is simply a beautiful design. Being surrounded by water, CP has arguably the most spectacular natural setting of any park in the world. The new plaza design really makes the most of the beach setting while giving the new ride a grand entrance.
